GAME DAY - ROUND 1

Frawley can go. His turn overs cost us and he didn't appear to care. I know that wouldn't be the case but he seems done with the dees. Yes this is doom and gloom stuff but for a leader to play like he did tonight, not worth it.

your thinking in terms of individuals, & not the collective sum to the team. Dawes would be worth 3 goals + to the team in belief terms. structure wise the players would feel more potent & an then attack the game with more belief.

And having lost Fitzy, over exposed Howe to too much pressure.

this cause the whole team to tense up & feel under the pump. composure is lost.

Our failure to attack the goal face was frustrating, we tried a lot of dinky passes out wide that were easy to knock out of bounds or repel. A tall target would have straightened us up.

Well, we certainly don't need fairweather supporters... so feel free to follow another club.

You usually post rubbish so i shouldnt be surprised, but this is right up there with your worst efforts.

Have a look at the MFC website and you will see a video essentially begging old, lapsed members to renew. This loss has probably cost us hundreds of renewals.

So feel free to keep your stupid opinion to yourself.

Yes, im angry.

I agree re Bail, he has to show more leadership with his age & years he's been around senior footy now. his lack of awareness doesn't help us score but it undermines the team belief. but he's out of position for him, as IMO he rather be around the wing.

Viney or Tapscott in next week for Byrnes, on the forward flank ! also I'd like to see Evans, or Blease in, after apparently a good game, for JK-H. JK-H IMO is too light, for the Eagles.

I'd think TMac will miss next week, at the least. Fitzy may need a rest after a head knock. So our talls are stretched.. the Max factor may get a run in Fitzy's spot.

I have my doubts about Rohan Bails composure & creativity when up forward. Barry or JK-H could be better there.

I would have Jetta in before Bail and just let him go for it for the next few weeks. Not sure that he's a better footballer at this point from an attacking aspect but at least he pressures and tackles super hard. Jetta's a marginal call but no loss losing Bail for him at this point i don't think.

Well, you would certainly know all about posting rubbish ding.

If you accept the fact that people are prepared to withdraw membership after one loss with a new set-up at the club, then that's your prerogative... I however will express my opinion regardless of what you think. Maybe this loss did cost us potential memberships... but unlike some, I am happy to be a member when we are going poorly or when we are going well. Without members, the club dies... I'm guessing you will be one of the first to call for the sacking of the board and a new coach.

Obviously i'd rather him stay than go, but if Frawley thinks he is god's gift to our back-line, he has another thing coming.

Not sure what you mean when you say 3+ goals in belief? Like I said I like Dawesy I do but he's not worth 3 goals a game, phyisically, spiritually or in belief terms.

Actually im at the stage where i would prefer to see the club fold than continue to serve up loss after loss after loss after, ......... gettit?

You may be happy to be a member but you obviously STILL dont understand that we need every possible supporter actually signing up or we are forever condemned to being a 18 man bye round. Losses against a crap side like the Saints hurt, and hurt big. And you say you dont care huh? No team in the league could afford a first round loss less than us.

I had you pegged as someone who only cared for themselves, and i was obviously right.

we went back into old habits, as we lost faith.

then we chase tail, & when we have the ball hesitate instead of trust our instincts. this is exactly what happens in arrested development. groundhog day. the negatives & bad habits are entrenched into the psyche, & they become instinctive, when under pressure. This is why the old guards had to be shifted on... they too were damaged 'old dogs'.

we have to keep on remedying the clubs health, Team list, & personnel.

We Now have the best people who truly understand this stuff. so finally the Club is NOT running around in perpetual circles, like a mad dog. but it'll take a little bit to stop these behaviors. & to instill New cognitive ways of doing things.

all our players when under the pump go to auto pilot. this will take some time but I can't see much improvement until we get the teams layout structure stronger. In a few weeks will be better, but we have to maintain our belief & focus thru the next few weeks.

Keep the wheels on folks. this is a crucial time. we have to band together.

far from worst but not as he should be with his experience.

his poor use of the ball in the first Qtr contributed to loss of team confidence & panic situations.

Well, you'd be very wrong there... but you could certainly do with a visit to the room of mirrors for a bit of self-reflection and anger management. Carry on.

They won that game with less touches and I50s and only a win in stoppages around the ground and on the scoreboard.

We have a visible, at times, visceral gameplan and all the players looked good at times.

If we can get a forward line going we can win games but when you are putting Bernie Vince at FF and Byrnes is your only option running toward goal - you will struggle.

I can see the light, if the players can keep the faith.

the thing is people need to not consider that we lost and go back and watch us play last year and contrast the difference, we have improved out of sight, but it was always going to be hard to kick a winning score last night.

Stop being a suckhole Graeme

Tim is a rational common sense poster whose views I've respected for some years, here, on 'ology and twitter.

Nothing suckhole like about that.

You could well take a leaf.

Graeme i have been reading this twits posts for years. He is a cheap sniper who spends most of his time slagging off at anyone who has an opinion different to his. He is a first class clown.

Perhaps you would like to cite some of the footy related posts where I have taken cheap snipes? Ding, anger management is something that you should seriously look into (and no, that is not a snipe... it's a serious suggestion).

Politics however is open slather and anything goes... I think you will find most rational footy posters go off the rails there.

Pages 13,11 and 9 (i didnt bother looking back any further as that was already every second page) you have had a cheap shot at someone else who had voiced opinions you didnt agree with. You have form, and it is consistent.

Grow up.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
