The real elephant in the room

Nothing to see here, look away. If we were guilty of taking banned substances our boys would be playing like Jobe Watson and the Bombers. The reality is that they're playing worse than when they were allegedly tanking which proves that all they were taking was placebos that don't work.

And if we were tanking we no doubt would have played like Lazarus in the following years.

Oh wait that didn't happen did it.....

I really hate the way the media and the AFL are on the side of Essendon

'its not their fault' 'we feel sorry for the club and its players' 'James is a saint' and the worst 'they have been under scrutiny for 4 months...

FFS we were under siege for 12 months. Virtually a day did not go by without some article pillorising Melbourne. From Jurrah, to tanking, Jimma, Mifsud etc etc we copped it left right and centre. No sympathy. Just vitriol that exists to this day.

I hope Ess are booted out of the competition. They are smugger than a black rap star. They pushed the envelope, revelled in it and were outed.

Their administration practices were shabby, their faith in the twin messiahs of Hird and Thompson (the 'dream team') was roundly misplaced. Their arrogance about how they will get out of this and have nothing to worry about is galling. And it is all because the AFL are so weak and driven by a huge egomaniac in Dimwit.

he has had his head in the sand on every major issue of the past 10 years. From drugs to the tribunal to tanking to racism. They treat their favoured sons like rock stars but of you are a Matt Rendell, Dale Lewis or Melbourne you don't count.

The AFL are losing supporters every week with their high handed arrogant attitude. They simply don't get it.

True but you are missing the point, its all about money!

The EFC can generate lots of money so they need to be protected at all costs. While the MFC costs money so why bother protecting them.

The AFL has had bad leadership for years. but things have been going OK so why rock the gravy train too much.

There is alot of threats to Aussie Rules Football in the future but I am not sure the current leadership is up to the task of protecting the game.

The MFC players could not have taken any performance enhacing drugs!

If anyone needs any proof they should just look at how badly the team plays.

I challenge anyone to find evidence that a single MFC player actually improved his performance in 2013!

It just simply did not happen.

Well you may have a point but I wouldn't be surprised if we were choofing the best hooch in town. Thats how bad they are.

If Jack was picking up his cream from the pharmacy, I doubt it was the type not tested on humans.

And Julia Gillard said there would be no carbon tax and 2013 would see a budget surplus. (600 times)

How come my recent post about Australia getting into the world cup on the night of the qualifier was deleted in minutes yet we can have the Alf-tories of this world constantly get free kicks to post their political grudges!

Yeah ................ ""pharmacy""

lol are you comparing Julia Gillard/a politician with a corporate CEO?

Great news everyone. David Jones is having a sale on a cream with AOD9604. You don't even have to go to a pharmacy, its now $44.25 and you can get 88 frequent flyer points!!

"Key Ingredients include:
- TPM® Dermal Delivery Technology scientifically proven to deliver up to 5 x greater absorption of key ingredients into skin
- Hexadecapeptide 9604: a powerful peptide scientifically proven to assist in the visible appearance of cellulite. (USA Consumer Study, 2011)
- Forskolin: belongs to the mint and lavender family, helps optimise the appearance of skin smoothness and tone."

The elephant in the room is the gorilla in the corner.

I thought the elephant in the room left to head up GWS recruiting.

If there is an elephant in the room then he probably bears a remarkable resemblance to Vlad. After all, he's supposed to be running the show at the MFC through his surrogate PJ the appointed CEO of the club. That being the case, if there is a connection as alleged in the OP between Dank and Craig and Misson, it would surely represent a massive failure in corporate governance on the part of our AFL masters for making Craig the head coach after Neeld's departure and indeed for simply keeping them on the payroll.

On that basis, you would have to accept PJ's word that there's absolutely nothing to worry about. Dr. Bate was on a frolic of his own when dealing with Dank.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
