WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Michael Voss sacked as Lions Coach and Roosy likely to get the nod as replacement.

Where does it say Roos is likely to get the nod?

I don't think it does, but why would they sack Voss with the lions still an outside chance of the finals if they don't feel they're onto something better?

Because the Lions want to see real development. Voss has not shown he has the goods as a coach.

Maybe Voss is the coach we've been tapping up..?

FMD

If that's the case i won't be a member in 2014, would rather an untried coach

Close the thread it is all over.

hang on...cant even remember what this thread IS about any more ^_^

Might be a blessing in disguise, Choco might come on board, 100% committed to the cause, as opposed to a 75% committed Roos.

Another good reason to close it bb!

Last night I was discussing this with my Brother who is a Lions member, he is of the opinion that the lions see Roos as the person to take over from Voss.

He claims that approaches have been made already.

Claims Roos is way more likely to move North from Sydney than South, weather / family reasons etc.

Do not be surprised if he knocks us back and takes the Lions job in October.

I seen Paul Roos in Brisbane 2 weeks ago, I just thought he was up there with fox footy!

I am yet to see any evidence that Roos will take up the Lions offer. However, his connection with them would certainly be a motivating factor.

Not a popular choice but Rodney Eade is the man for Melbourne. He is a career coach. Think he'll be better for his role at the pies.

Meh... I don't want Rocket

I cant see Brisbane ditching Voss unless they had a quality replacement lined up.......

Our last coach was supposed to be going to benefit from his experience with the Pies. We all know how that worked out.

However, I agree that Eade seems to now be the 'top' candidate.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
