WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Featured Replies

My god I hope roos signed today

Lets face it, if he cant move his family to Brisbane, is he really going to move them to Perth?

How long is Brett Kirk contracted for over in Perth? i wouldn't be surprised if he was pretty keen to coach alongside Roosy and Roosy pretty keen to have him there.

Since Worsfold has stepped aside maybe that releases Kirk also?

Welcome aboard AM Dam

May catch up in AD after I disembark from an APT cruise

Cheers, yea anybody coming to Amsterdam is welcome to come for a beer and a kick. We also play cricket a lot, the most intense sessions being on Australia/India day, usually in the snow.

Have been on this site for years, but kept quiet more out of dealing with the tides of misery washing over our club, but feel like many that things are turning a corner and am allowing myself a bit more optimism these days. Why not? If this doesn't work, it's unlikely we'll survive, so may as well go at it with full belief.

What is really bloody great about all this is that it seems we finally have a proper management team in place, rather than the ego-driven characters that have run the place for so long. Looking at clubs like Hawthorn, Sydney and Geelong, that seems to be a common factor - they've been driven by teams of people who are motivated, who typify the sought after culture that successful teams enjoy and, finally, who seem to be people that know what the [censored] they are doing. Happy days.

If those bastards do a Ross Lyon I will fly down to Perth and go postal.

Stay away from my man West Coast!

DC, I think one look at my avatar would tell you that I am not a person to be trifled with... deadly serious.

My adoption clinic says otherwise.

Since Worsfold has stepped aside maybe that releases Kirk also?

Kirky is at Freo

And this week gets even more nerve racking

i'll say it again, club staff have not met with/been informed that paul roos is coaching mfc in 2014

There has been no mention over here in the west in regard to Roos taking the Meth Coast gig, all we are hearing is Sumich if favourite. I think if they had any interest they either left it to late or the Brisbane and Perth scenarios with the family are drawbacks

Come on guys lets be a little bit confident in PJ and co getting Roos over the line. Burns has done a lenghty apprenticeship at the eagles as has Sumich most recently under R. Lyon...But you never no until the paper has been signed.

The end for Worsfold

If Roos goes to WCE in the 11th hour then some of the posters with "inside info" might get a permanent banning out of pure frustration.

I'll be taking up life as a full time lacrosse fan.

Wasn't he supposed to be signed by today according to a few people? Just about when to have a presser?

Burns to coach wce imo he would be the perfect choice for them

Bhutan? Seriously? Of all the places...

< Hoping Selwood's review was a trigger point for Worsfold quitting.

Oh man, couldn't Meth Toast have waited until after Tuesday to do this? Getting a horrible, horrible feeling

hold firm fellow Demonlanders. Now is not the time to waver.

Its the EOS for 10 clubs. Much is bound to happen .Many personnel will move around.

I have absolute faith all is fine and to be announced soon enough.

Deep breaths all. :)

Screw it going back to work haha don't even wanna look at my phone anymore

Relax, if not tomorrow over the weekend.

Confirmation of a Liberal Landslide and Roos to Dees would make an awesome weekend for me!!!!!!!!!!!

GNF, Is there any chance of WCE hi-jacking this deal?

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • PREGAME: Gold Coast

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
