Whispering you only had to say the first 6 words of that sentence and i was in agreement.

Stranger things have happened :) The Pies aren't travelling that well and a few of the guys, still with us from back then, can reflect on how well a young inexperienced Demons outfit did against them twice when they won the flag in 2010. I'd be gobsmacked if we did win and I do realise that we didn't actually win one of those games in 2010, but at least we were in the contest dammit. Did I mention we were young and inexperienced back then...

I guess Satan put in a good (evil?) word with Death to change his tip. You know how he likes his Demons!

Or just goes to show that even someone (thing?) that is OBLIGED to tip for us can't stomach it anymore....

Someone has had $500 on a Melbourne win. Maybe they know something we don't!

What's that saying about a fool and his coin?

BTO will have his usual redback on the Dees :)

Hopefully it was a Collingwood player

Maybe he was just a bit more inebriated than us

With Gawn and Sellar both playing for Casey today, it will be interesting seeing if the punt with Toumpas and Co. pays off!

Yeah, they know we only rock up once a year - queens b'day.

Although we don't win many, we make them competitive when we have no right to.

I still remember slick Rick Pettard fumbling that mark that would've got us over the line.

Even to this day, the missus says that I should let it go, but easy said that done - especially after a few jars.

I don't mind the punt on Toumpas, he's capable of playing well in the AFL, I mean he's played senior football in the SANFL and his body can handle it, he's no twig.

Gawn is still a year away in the AFL, he gets pushed off the boundry throw ins far too easily, he needs to add some muscle - there is no reason to rush Gawn.

Keep in mind, it's Max first year playing for the senior side, the difference between VFL ruckman and AFL is massive, ask Jake Spencer.

Reason enough to trade him.

Why, why, why.

Omens. Kiss of Death supports the Demons and then the MCC plays 'Sympathy for the Devil' just prior to game commencement.

Unfortunately, omens don't count for anything.

Better than 'Under Pressue' which is what they played prior to the match starting when i was there a few weeks back!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
