Frawley has plenty of speed and is still blanketing his direct opponent weekly but is down on confidence and care factor to try and fix all the other players problems.

We don't need to trade him we just need to get the other defenders and mids up to scratch and he'll look like a star again. People were writing off Darren Glass a couple of years back when the Eagles were struggling.

Personally I'm not sure there would be a better available player at our second round pick than Prestia. Prestia has obviously shown a bit and was pick 9 so that's the bench mark for what Gold Coast would want. A second round pick and a swap of third rounders might get the deal done. That said I don't want to overspend on a guy just to fill a need position.

I'm also at the end of my tether with Watts. I don't see the point of keeping him as a forward unless he gets physical and can put on a tonne of pressure. Mid sized forwards are dying unless they run and rotate like midfielders. We have Clark, Hogan and Dawes for the forward line. Down back he has been a failure this season. Can't defend so really is a lose flanker and just hasn't impacted the contests. If I was replacing Neeld I'd trade Watts for Prestia in a heart beat and get the Watts problem somewhere else. I'd be totally comfortable giving up what others see as the more talented player to get someone who can make a direct impact.

Package Prestia with Gorringe maybe.... for our first pick

They still need to reduce their list don't they?

No way. Gorringe will be a player but he isn't what we need right now. If he was going to be a star as a ruck/forward you'd think he'd push ahead of Lynch or May or Dixon for at least a game. He's a ruckman and we've got a good one coming through in Gawn.

We need to keep pick 2 and get the best midfielder in the draft.

We need to look at Prestia with our second round pick or players who aren't vital to our future like flankers like Watts.

Don't mind the sound of this. However I'm not sold on trading off our first pick this year; with Jason Taylor onboard it would be good to see what he could do with it. I'm backing him to bag us a star in the first round this year, hopefully Dunstan or Billings.

I would happily take Billings at pick 1 on what i have seen, his kicking is amazing, he runs harder than anyone on the ground and he would be ready to go, i'm sure dawes, hogan and clark would love him sending the ball to them, if we get a priority, dunstan and billings or billings and crouch for me

Billings absolutely smashed the championships last year as a bottom age player. Only question is his size, he is pretty slight.

Not much point in existing if we aren't working to something, Frawley isn't old either, i'm sure Port were probably saying the same thing last year and this year they will go very close so it can turn around quickly with the right people in place

Port may go very close to making the 8 and that would be the best they can wish for at this stage...I didn't actually mean that Frawley is old but just that he WILL be before we even think of playing in a Premiership.. At this stage our chances of playing in a Premiership (or even making the 8) in Frawley's era would currently attract odds of about 50 to 1 with any betting agency..

Better to be slight than untalented, i'm sure a pre season under mission and we could get abit of weight into the kid.

Cale Morton...

I'd lean towards Dunstan at this stage but Billings will still be a gun, I just don't like his chances of putting on kilos at Melbourne.

Just a thought due to the fact we have a number players coming out of contract. And apologies if this has been covered on the many doom and gloom threads.

Given the situation that everyone thinks Neeld is at the end of his tenure and PJ being around for only 6mths. Who's responsibility is it to look at who at what we're going to do with our list in the near future?

Has anyone heard whether they're in discussions with these players, or we're going to go down the pin the tail on our donkey again....

What happens if Gawn does another knee.....(touch wood)

Spencer??? lol

We need some quality insurance too

What if instead of interviewing Billings before the draft we get brendan lade to chase him and if he runs we know not to draft him ? haha

If he is down on CARE factor then our Members' and Sponsors' money is being wasted.... Salary Cut ????

Must keep Frawley and Watts. Still believe Watts will play a role.

Prestia ans Shiels for pick 1/2 and Sylvia (probably not enough but if neither want to sign their hand might be forced

only problem with this is we lose more experience & body strength.

... so we need one young for sure in Prestia, if he wants to come over.

But key for us is to get one power inside mid who is elite.... to take some heat off the other workers. not a Del', but more like a Mitchell type, more an inside with gut run.. I don't care if they're 27 or 28 already.. we need their help Now.

If I could get Mitchell now, + HTaylor this would be Massive for us....

I'd take Billings or Aish.

There is no way all this talent can fail.

Players like Watts, Trengove, Toumpas, they were nothing but class and they are playing like the average players that they aren't.

I'd have confidence and take the most talented kid again and bank on our next coach getting the best out of our players.

Prestia would be the perfect addition alongside Billings.

he said we gain Shiels and Prestia for Sylvia and pick 2

How is that losing body strength when both those kids are tougher and stronger than Sylvia?

so is tapscott...

neither of these boys are experienced yet... & neither could yet compare to Sylvia when his mind is on the job.

No matter what your personal thoughts of Sylvia are, he can play & be devastating. In a good side he'll fly.

in a crapola side he'll scratch his head wondering.

We need strong mature heads used to Finals pressure & leading.

Prestia & Roos thanks PJ.

This is your mission, well one of many!

Keeping Hogan is up there also.

For a ball magnet like Prestia that has Judd's hips and Swans' smarts I'd even consider giving up Trengove.

Yes, really.

Yep trading the captain would be really great for the culture that we desperately need to fix!!

Its about a winning culture keeping some losers will not change anything Some of our players have forgotton how to win

The bodylanguage in the first bounce is apalling

Talk of trading a top pick or Frawley is madness and Sylvia is a Free Agent. If we can convince Prestia to come to us we should use our salary cap room to snare him in the PSD or trade our second rounder at most.

GC won't let him go easily, it'll take a first round pick, if watts wants to leave, trade him for pick 15-20 and then pass that on for prestia, or outright trade watts for prestia if GC are interested in that

Can't see anyway they'd let him walk for a second round pick, and we would have to be very careful to make sure we get the first pre season pick selection if that fails.

Really, Toumpas? He played very well in the reserves last time around, showing why he was so highly touted. Bad call including him in that topic.
