hey guys i have noticed lately there has been a hell of alot more foot stress fracture/ligament etc injuries in the AFL...

it got me thinking.. is there more to it?

eg. are the boots different.to how they were 10-20 years ago..

or are the surfaces alot harsher on the plauers feet these days..

just curious if anyone knows better..

well we could have antique feet, going on the report in the sun today.maybe thats the prob

Etihad isn't kind on players feet but again I think the big issue is they are doing 15+ km a game each week. That's not easy. They aren't built for running that distance. How many 100+kg long distance runners do you see in the Olympics.

The AFL are trying to slow the game down by making the players fatigued. I think there must be a smarter way to make AFL more a game of skill, speed and power and not just endurance.

imo its all the running they have to do to get the required "tank" & general fitness. > pounding = stress fractures... imo foot muscle fatigue could cause the foot tiredness & then ligament damage.

they've reached the limits of the body, without added supplements, IMO.
