Changes v West Coast

In a perfect world Gawn and Bail would get another week at Casey to settle in and Tappy would need to prove himself 2 weeks in a row, but we barrack for Melbourne so it's a far from perfect world!

Yes Gawn would get an extra week but jamar is so bad, we don't have that luxury.

Conservative approach long gone .... This as conservative as I can be.

Was at casey today .... See my post in the Casey v Frankston thread

Sellar, Gillies, Nicholson, Watts, Toumpas (like the kid but think four or five games in VFL would do him good.)

Pederson, Strauss, Bail, Evans, Jetta

Thin ice for many others - I'd love to include manger ! But who are we going to put on long term injury ! :)

In taggert gawn magnet barry

Well ...that's my laugh for the day. Unfortunately Taggert played in the 2's at Casey and didn't make the best in that match, Magna is back on the rookie list and not available, Barry doesn't like the contest at this stage and Big Max, well he would be a chance but I hope they don't pick him just yet. If Big Max is picked this week then the footy department should be accused of not looking after their players.

He might have to take it into his own hands at training this week.

Get rid of Jamar and Sylvia. Replace anyone who's marking time with someone who actually gives a [censored] about the colours and the club.

More importantly, who would have thought that West Coast would start the season 0-3? Amazing!

FB: Jetta Frawley Garland

HB: Grimes McDonald Terlich

C: Bail Viney M. Jones

HF: Tapscott Sylvia Davey

FF: Kent Howe Byrnes

Foll: Clark N. Jones Trengove

Int: Sellar Dunn Blease Evans

Not sure the exact ins and outs but there is a lot. I'm not keen on keeping Sylvia in the team but the bottom of the barrel was being scraped.

Watts and Sylvia to Casey. Kent and Tappy into the side.

Hard competitive players required.

Your theory falls down with the mention of Tapscott

Tappy is utter shite! Has not developed at all! Never again

BOG today says your theory falls first....

23 possies and 6 goals today... Deserves to play AFL next week.

A very shallow comment Bobby. If you had read the site carefully today ( you can read I presume) you would have noticed that I had put aside and got over last night's anger. If you are going to make aggressive comments make sure you have the full facts. Otherwise you risk looking like a DH - as you just did.

What exactly was aggressive about my question? And what was aggressive about my FACTUAL statement? Who is really being aggressive now? Do you change your mind often?

Would have thought saying someone can't read and looks like a dhead was more aggressive than CORRECTLY stating you had said you gave up on MFC.

Thanks Stuie. I did say YESTERDAY in my post didn't I?

Tappy kicks goals against Frankston,Woopee,he won't get a sniff against the Eagles, like Port last week.

We need to see 3-4 weeks of consistant performances instead up and down each week.

IN- Jetta, Tapscott, Dunn, Strauss, Kent

OUT- Gillies, Sylvia, Nicholson, Jamar, Byrnes

Sellar to ruck all day with Clark to help

Gillies and Byrnes to go back to the cattery

West Coast are not exactly setting the world on fire. If we weren't the worst team I'd ever seen, I might actually think we had a chance next week.

So you'd leave at the BOG for Casey when MFC gets beaten by 150 points?

Hmmmm....

Tappy needs to play but in the same role as today. Looks all at sea coming out of the back.

Please Stuie, stop it!

Think it's unfair to keep Toumpas in the team any longer. His confidence will be absolutely shot with any more games like last night's and we'd only be hurting his future development.

What position did Tappy play today?

Also Toumpas needs a couple of weeks at Casey to get some more experience

I'm not entirely sure on that one. He did a couple of things where I thought that he's got great vision/awareness. sub?

My understanding is that he played predominantly up forward.

Agreed. We ruined Cale Morton by giving him games he didn't deserve, and I don't want the same thing to happen to Jimmy Toumpas.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
