CASEY SCORPIONS v FRANKSTON

Hope you're right Rjay. But I'm not a big believer in getting young players to play in a significantly lower grade. Generally equals loss of form and greater chance of injury as you hold back.

Agree with you 'Return', I would rather see Taggert get a taste of AFL (has the size and skill to play the level, he's not a skinny kid) as soon as he gets a couple of good games under his belt. Casey two's is not the spot for that.

Kent is another that will be better for an AFL run, another not a skinny kid.

We have attack record of doing that. Ie Lucas Cook. Yes, he didn't make it but its not a move that helps the cause in terms of confidence IMO

Taggert was being talked up last yr by mfc coaches as one to watch, have some balls Melbourne and [censored] off some of our list cloggers and give kids like Taggert, Tynan a chance to develop properly in the Vfl seniors.

We got rid of a large number of list cloggers this year. But you are right and it is a real concern how many we still have left on the list...

Why can't the club explain Tynan and Taggarts situation? Another example of shyte communications.

I asked the two players in question and the development coach at training this morning, also read Heartbeat you get a bit more info, and there is a report on Club website on both from last week's game...shyte post on your part really

Want to catch a glimpse of the club's future this afternoon?

Step down to Cranbourne East and watch the youth of the club have a crack at selection in the senior team.

Cheers.

Here's hoping some players like Strauss, Jetta, Davies, Taggert, Spencer, Gawn and Tynan can show something as well as Kent - I think Melbournes rebuild means playing many younger players and hoping they will want to give all for this club.

Really hope Sylvia, Nicholson, Gillies and Seller are dropped. If I was the coach, I'd be telling them to get desperate because it could be your last ever AFL game.

Wonder if the AFL would beend the rules and allow Hogan to play if the MFC requested it.

KC is rory taggert and josh tynan playing in the development league?

Not at the ground yet but 3/4 time score is Casey 8.2.50 Frankston 7.10.52.

Result of the Development League game was a solid win to Frankston 12.14.86 to 9.3.57.

Back later with details but I did see Rory Taggert among the Casey players.

Kent Gawn Jetta and Strauss.. 4 players who I want to play very well and if they do should be in the MFC lineup next week. Kent and Gawn need to be in there

I find it simply amazing that Taggert is playing in this group at a time when we cant find a midfielder to bless ourselves with. Did we recruit him with VFL seconds in mind? Has he gone backwards? Did he not have it from the outset? What does playing VFA seconds do to a young players confidence? I just don't get this and as he's not in the better players does this mean he stays there? What is the story?

This story has been covered so many times. He had a debilitating back injury and they are bringing him back through the vfl 2s

You don't expect us mugs to accept that explanation do you?

Could someone find out the name of Casey's CEO. I want him sacked!

Tapscott & Evans goal.

Scores 2.1.13 to 2.1.13

KC I know it's hard to keep track of everyone's requests but if possible would it be alright to cover Jetta and Strauss this afternoon. The level we need a running HBF was so evident last night, whoever is best out of those two should get a run against WCE.

Thanks again and go scorps

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
