NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE

Featured Replies

@melbournefc: Leading possession getters at half time: Watts 17, Grimes 14, M.Jones 13, Terlich 13.

so watts is back in my dream team side i guess...

You should never have taken him out!

Half Time; blue skies must be over 30 here, no worthwhile wind advantage, dees started well and dominated 1st and start of 2nd, Ablett went FWD and created a few opportunities, and got the Suns back in the game, can't recall going inside 50 in the last half of 2nd??

went to Rodan a few times but got beaten and suns rebounded

4.5 to 4.3

heaps of kick to kick in the backline, struggling to get it clear out of defense, the Suns are onto the switch and zone was making Ds nervous.

other points of interest..

Hogan's 1st quarter great! Toumpas and M. Jones going well, Tapscott took a great contested one handed, nJones outmuscled Gaz in a nice bit of work on the wing, Warnock 'the wall' another ex making you jealous..

players look stuffed in the heat,

now must attempt to find the gents...

Bailin Out

For those reporting I offer a huge thanks and requests that at the end of the game that we know who was playing firstly and I'd also love more than anything to know how our centre midfielders went especially who had a go on Ablett.

@melbournefc: It's currently 27 degrees, humid and reasonably still here at Southport. Players like @howie0038 have opted to cover their face in zinc.

Another second quarter fade out?

Suns outscored us by 11 points in that quarter, but if you include that quarter when we were up by 21 points it was actually a 23 point turn around in less than a quarter.

So you'd have to say yes.

Seems we've still got a lot of work to do on maintaining composure of the back half which is a shame!

If that's what we're going to produce in 2013, then we'd better prepare ourselves for a long, hard year. We are painful.

Our shining light in the first half will be a star but not in 2013 - Jesse Hogan.

Can everyone take a deep breath and save all the wailing till the game is over and we have ALL the info post just whining clog up the topic....let Bailin post

not sure, maybe cause all the GC beach babes are at that end?

players out on field , 3rd to start in a few mins

Bailin, why all the scoring at one end?

What do you mean we won the first quarter and then were dominating them during the first 10 mins of the 2nd! Just another fade out.

@melbournefc: Sellar takes the mark on a 45 degree angle and slots it through for a goal - his first for the day.

Goal to Sellar

Who's that rucking for GC? Looks like a big bugger from the photo.

Charlie Dixon

@melbournefc: Despite good pressure from Wattsy, the Suns score another goal. Suns 41 v Dees 33.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
