2013 Dream Team : Legends + All Stars Leagues

Both Demonland leagues are close to full. 1 spot left in the Legends League. I require someone to transfer from the AllStars League into the Legends. That will open 2 spots in the AllStars League. There is a 3rd league availbale should it be required..

3rd DT league -- enter this code 671003

Just joined, really looking forward to this season.

Going to assume every man and his dog has J Viney.

So how does this work Deevoted? Those who do well in the 'rookies' league get an upgrade to a harder one next year?

I'm in and looking forward to just not being in a public league.

Like everyone I have, Viney a steal. Toumpas, Whitfield, O'Rourke, Wines.

They should earn lots of early $$$$

The bolded are expensive rookies when there are other options as good and cheaper. I'd have no more than one of those 4.

Next year the "Demonland Legends" League will be made up from the top 18 scores.

The " Demonland AllStars" League will be made up from the next best 18 scores

The 3rd league (couldnt think of a name off the top of my head at time), so for now its the "Rookies" League. (if required)

To make this work, at the end of this season I will require everyones total score for this year, then place everyone in the appropriate Leagues. That makes for a more even league. But this is depending on who continues etc.

I will post all the coaches in the Legends League and the AllStars League soon.

From that I need everyone to ID themselves with their Demonland user name to their team name, so I know who is who for next year.

ATM I require someone to jump into the Legends League, if anyone in the AllStar league or the Rookie League wants to change, pm me I'll pass on the code for that league. When the Legends league is also full (1 short atm) I will post all the coaches we have at it stands.

I hope all that makes sense. :)

PS: anyone that isnt in any of the 3 leagues atm, PM me I'll send you the code to join for the legends league.

O'Meara (GCS) and Crouch (ADE) could also be great picks this year and are cheaper than the ones you've listed. I've also picked Tom Mitchell (SYD) as a possible smokey. Edited by Demon Jack

Listed below are the 3 leagues Legends / All Satrs / Rookies

The name of the league you are in, is not a reflection on your DT albility. That will be deternined at the end of the year, from your score this year.

I now require ALL coaches to confirm your team with your Demonland user name.

My team name is my DL username just shortened (YDE). would you like me to still change my coach name or is that fine?

Once the 3rd league = Rookie league is full, that is it,we are done. All coaches will need to confirm themselves .Going on past experiences there has been one or two dropout just before the season gets under way. If this happens this year, it wont hurt to put your name forward as a late replacement, on standy. Failing that, you are on your own.

O'meara is injured. Not likely to play early on.

Really? I can't find any news on it.

Found an article from 8th Jan saying he was targetting at a round 1 start.

I think he has surgery last year but I thought he had recovered?

Just joined the "rookie" league... still think I'm probably out of my depth though.

In the interests of fair competition, below are the resources I use. I've found them very helpful:

Raw stats (and estimated break evens during the season):

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/dream_team_round

Players likely to rise in price:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-01-22/afl-fantasy

Under-priced players (those who should score above their current price):

Best defenders:

Comprehensive DT forum:

http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php?board=1.0

Between those websites you should be able to create a pretty solid first round team even with little DT experience. It is a lot of reading though, but there's a lot of time between now and the end of March. Remember that we now get 2 trades per round, so for beginners you have a lot more opportunity to fix your team if it's not ideal. You don't actually face off against anyone until round 3, so that's 4 trades to fix errors before we even start. It's much more generous than last year when if you had a bad team at the start it would take a long time to fix.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
