You all are not giving this guy a fair go.

He was today awarded the award for best international at the draft - above both Gideon Simon & Kurt Heatherley who have been signed by Richmond and Hawthorn respectively (not including Irish). He also could be leadership material as he seems to be very well spoken and best of all his nickname is 'the beast'.

He is 24, 197cm, 105kg (http://www.afl.com.a...40/default.aspx)

His results in the draft camp: top 50 in the beep test, 2.90 seconds for 30m sprint, 4th biggest hand span measured at 25.2cm, 80cm vertical jump and biggest running jump off left foot at 85cm.

Did I mention he is extremely athletic? I thought Nic Nat could dunk...but this guy:

According to the draft video from the AFL website he has been in talks with 8 different teams, some of which are apparently keen (I am hoping one of these is the dees). In term of the list, he can be listed on as an international rookie and wouldn't take up the space on primarily list or an Australian rookie. The cost to the club is the rookie contract for 1-2 years and the time of the developing coaches to teach him the game. He could be a one hit wonder that never makes it but this is little cost for a large possible gain!

Sounds promising but please have a look at this guys appetite for the contest - if he's been playing basketball for a while what is he going to be like being laid out by guys as big as him and run into the ground? Have a look into that first... we don't want a bigger version of Cook.

Is there any indication one way or the other if we have any interest in any of the international players.

It costs little is highly speculative but has good upside and as the pioneers with the late great duo of Jim and Sean we should be in it ,if not this guy one of the others

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
