After AFL experience and bodies.

Denied games over with Wellingham. Denies interest in Knights or Reilly and sidestepped a proper answer on a few others.

Important to get players who can play Neeld's game plan.

Happy with the core group and wants to bring players who can assist or compete with current players and then will make decisions on list.

Aaron Davey to be at Melbourne next year.

Simple one with Viney, will make decision based on what the other 2 clubs do and comes down to the day. Denies denying they have decided!

Viney is almost certain to go to the Suns if they bid for him!

As if, they've had months to work that one out. They know exactly what they are going to do, although good on him for muddying the waters.

Almost, but you're not certain.

Heard most of it... Usual stuff, but my impressions were this:

-Was very diplomatic about Dawes, got the impression that's a done deal

-Was VERRRRRRY keen on Caddy, gut feel is we may force him to us via trade with GC

-Subtlely hinted that Viney would be back at MFC after 2 years if GC or GWS go after him

They did sow the seeds of letting him go, with him turning back and coming here in 2 years.

Let's see who blinks first.

thanks for the summary.

Good to hear we are still punching in the "Sharrod to the Dees fight"

No mention of Lynch? Has Hutchy confirmed he is a magpie?

These two items are the crux of our play to get JV with the second round. I.e. Let Jack go through and we'll use pick 13 on Caddy (a better deal than most other suitors can afford)...

Saints have pick 12 (and possibly 13 for Goddard)

And if GC let JV through then we can make sure Saints use pick 12 on Caddy (which would make GC happy).

But we have GC boy Petterd to sweeten a deal if needed.

Haha yeah so it would be Caddy for either:

-Pick 13

or

-Petterd plus pick 4

Lol

We don't have to actually want Caddy or even take him, we just need GC to think we might, sufficiently to let JV through to second round.

I don't particularly like Caddy from the accounts I've heard, but keen to have two top 5 picks PLUS JV...

Stuie? Now the time Mate. If they want Viney the have to grab him. Dawes will be a done deal. No other team would want Dawes. Having said all that who knows..maybe he can be the "transformer" and we sure need some toughness.

keep Petterd

Yeah I think Dawes would be a decent pick up as long as we don't have to give up much trade wise and Collingwood pay half his contract.

What are you talking about? Since when does 13 plus a sweetener ( Petterd ) become 4 plus Petterd.

It was a joke mate. Have another look and see if you get it.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
