I think you mean Maloney for Beems.

Your postman must be Helen Keller. Seriously, do people read papers these days?! Beams is re-signed and Moloney is a free-agent. So frustrating reading this forum sometimes.

Beems, what was i thinking...

Hook line and sinker

This is not necessarily a rumour, but i was listening to SEN talk about melbourne using the money ball tactic come trade time.

As I'm sure you all know, this involves assessing every player that is available in terms of biggest bang for buck.

Names like Shannon Byrnes were thrown up. Age 28, two time premiership player.

He now struggles for games because Geelong are giving the youth game time - he wouldn't demand top dollar (i doubt...)

Perhaps he could be the type of experience we need to set an example and help the boys along for the next 2-3 years.

I really do hope that Melbourne leaves no stone unturned in a search for some quality players.

Moloney for Beams? That can't be right.

Moloney was good while Jamar rammed it down his throat every bounce, but unfortunately moloney looks to be a one trick pony.

Collingwood would be bonkers to run that trade.

We should ask for Thomas and Beams for Moloney haha.

I think it was a joke - incorrect spelling of Moloney and Beems as in his nickname?

Our biggest trades will be with the Suns. They have some young talent from Victoria and we have some older players that might sure-up their side.

A Bate or a Moloney type would suit them.

Yeah trade Moloney to the suns, I do remember reading something about free agency but im sure its nothing.....

sigh

Not a rumour. But lets trade for Claye Beams (BRIS). Ricky Petterd?

Surely it's Reg.

Just signed a two year deal.

just signed a two year deal

Can still trade for him though

riiiiiiggght so you think brisbane who would be rapt to have signed him up just wake up in the morning and go hmm lets just decide to trade one of our promising young player just because we can.. seriously mate use that thing between your ears.

saw Travis Colyer running a round for the Bendigo team today. Small forward ?? not sure (behind Jetta and Alwyn Davey at EFC)

also heard Demons interested in midfielder from the Crows ... Chris Knights. Would be welcome.

Sewell has signed a 3 year deal so no chance of picking him up through FA. Also Jay Clark seems to think we are in the box seat to land Chris Knights from the Crows.

Rivers is an UFA. He can just walk.

Would be nice if folk got their heads around FA and stop putting them up for "trade "

Yep! I do. Seriousley! Everyone is tradeable at the right price! Whether they signed yesterday or last year.

Would Brisbane trade Beams if Adelaide wanted him in a Tippett trade?

Yes. I would think so!

dazzledavey36, you dont dazzle anymore! You need to join alwyn at the bummers.

Chris Knights is one of very few AFL players I have info on and mine tells me that Footy just isn't a real priority for the lad.

Had a big offer from the Tiges last time round but business interests (his main interests) and a slightly better offer kept him at the Crows.

I want footballers, die hards, traded for and drafted.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
