Seems a few noisy numpties are carpet-bombing the site with anti-Neeld diatribes at the moment.

Let's see what kind of support they have among Melbourne supporters.

Simple yes or no poll.

Before you vote, please read the thread, 'total faith in the neeld way'.

Healthy debate about the subject.

I've read that thread and the one thing it doesn't address is just what a frigging cess pool would be left if we removed another coach and who his replacement would be, therefore to suggest Neeld be removed is a totally moronic suggestion. I despair for the capacity to think clearly of those who vote in favour of his removal.

Nice impartial introduction to a poll!

What if we can replace him with Roos or malthouse?

Would our club be better off?

Roos has said he doesn't wnat to coach and our club stands for nothing, does that sound like he wants to enter an application? How the hell would you get Malthouse to replace his former, sacked assistant? Aren't we trying to build integrity around our club?

Wow... Worst poll ever.

If people are genuinely calling for the sack then we know who to ignore, but my impression is that most who are being labelled with that are either calling for more accountability of the coaching staff and/or questioning why the same posters saying "you don't know if he's bad or not, needs more time" are also saying "I have faith in Neeld".

It's a circular argument, and pretty obviously this poll was started and worded in such a way as for point scoring by certain posters.

Henceforth, I won't be voting in this thread, and I'm TOTALLY SICK of the same 4-5 posters over running every thread with their name calling and off topic posts.

STOP RUINING DEMONLAND.

What if What if, that's about the extent if your thinking. Did you read the on the couch thread? Roos thinks we are irrelevant as a club and this is the man who you would have as coach, Jesus H Christ do you ever think things through or do you think that by just spouting out a name as coach it will napped? What about we try for Clarkson or maybe Buckley or perhaps Hird, we might even give Barras another go.

Malthoouse pushed Neeld to the front when we were looking for a coach he recommended him; do you seriously think he would now undermine him.

The poll couldn't be any more simply worded.

Don't like the results Stu?

12 - 1 ... not looking good for the anti-Neeldists.

No idea what the results are, and frankly don't care.

This poll is an obvious point scoring thread set up by you and is one of the more immature things I've seen on Demonland (which is saying something).

You guys have already ruined one thread (at least) and now you're starting new ones for your pi55ing contests.

Clearly you do care or you wouldn't bother posting here.

Nice try mate. But once again you miss the point in your eternal quest to start conflict.

I posted here, and reported this thread, because I'm sick of this rubbish back and forth you keep going with other posters that is repetitive and not related to our football club.

Grow up.

It's just a simple poll, Stu. You really are getting your knickers in a twist over it.

I don't cast others' votes for them, Stu.

I'm for Neeld. No issue with that. Think he'll be there next year and help us get some success.

Seems a few others think the same eh?

I'm sure they do, as do I, but as I pointed out in the "Faith in Neeld" thread, there's more to it than a simple yes and no, and you know that, hence the "simple" poll.

Funnily enough you chose to reply to this post and not the other one which was actually about football...

Before you vote, please read the thread, 'total faith in the neeld way'.

Healthy debate about the subject.

Just voted for Neeld.

Seems I'm in the majority by a long way.

Tona-the wheels are falling off your barrow .

gotta give him one more year although if no improvement....OUT

Nice impartial introduction to a poll!

and you could have just as easily started a poll yourself... butyou didnt. So wear it

Got to at least give him a draft and some kids to work with - regardless of any 'points scoring' or bickering that might be going on, he needs more time.

We don't ditch the under performing draftees after half a year languishing in the reserves.

Happy to allow Neeld his full three years to not only instigate change, but affect it.

I will abstain from voting because until some drastic changes are made higher up he has Buckley's chance of proving anything.

How does that stop you from either wanting him there or not ? Are you not in effect saying he needs time to prove something ? You think that will/would or could happen in the short time left thi sseason.Almost by default yours is a vote for keeping.

What changes, weve a whole new FD ffs. Things take time.

What if we can replace him with Roos or malthouse?

Would our club be better off?

Watched On The Couch last night. Roos labelled the MFC as irrelevant, and I immediately thought to myself 'who's the dude on Demonland who keeps saying rather mindlessly - "get Roos" - like we could even if we wanted to?'

Well thanks for reminding me tonatopia.

I have one simple question for you: Do you still believe in the tooth fairy?

Some people in Kansas actually think the earth is 6,000 years old and that dinosaurs didn't exist because they weren't mentioned in the Bible.

It's hard to convince them the earth is in fact about 4.54 billion years old and that the universe is now estimated to have been created about 13.7 billion years ago.

Time for you to get real. Malthouse and Roos don't want to coach this club. They will effectively select the club they wish to coach if they want another senior gig - and, cop a tip, it's not ours.

And it never has been.

What if we can replace him with Roos or malthouse?

Would our club be better off?

Since you are basing your argument on what if's I'll join. What if we had Malthouse instead of Neeld? If we had the same amount of wins under malthouse this year no one would be questioning him because he has runs on the board. Every one would be waiting for the list to be culled at the end of the year. A bad list is a bad list. Simple.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
