I've watched plenty of games this year. The club is a long way off. At the end of the day are you going to end up with a midfielder that's really worth the price? It's so hard to have a hand at a premier tall forward, and we could potentially have 2, for a long time, while we develop other areas.

I get that we need a midfielder, but I don't understand the logic on passing on the opportunity to have two tall forwards very capable of kick 2+ goals per game. I don't see issues in continuing to develop our midfield as we are. It's our worst area but it's also our most demanding. You're all taking 2 steps forward with your thoughts, but then going 3 steps back when you try to explain the logic on passing on Cloke for "good midfielders". We're not winning a flag tomorrow.

Anyone who thinks Cloke is a good fit for our side hasnt been watching games this year.

A midfield that this season is ranked one of the last for forward 50 delivery. Lets have two expensive players standing around all day in the forward 50 because we lack the class in the midfield to get the ball to them.

Maybe you haven't been watching games too closely either? Clark and Cloak are forwards who often involve themselves in play down the ground (Clark because he often has no choice and Cloak because he chooses to do so). With a little coordination, they could be working for each other with one staying in the forward line and the other sending the ball in... that is assuming that Viney, Jones, Magner, et al aren't performing.

I can see us getting some midfield strength from the draft aside from Viney, so I think it is definitely worth chasing Cloak while he is available... next year is not an option as far as he is concerned. Perhaps our midfield is not as bad as we like to think... maybe, just maybe, the ruck work hasn't been up to scratch and as a result we have not been getting first go at the clearances?

Oh, and I for one believe that Jurrah will definitely be going around with us next year.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

    Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer.     Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.
