I've always lived under the mantra that people earn respect, but I've decided that every human being should implicitly have that right unless they revoke it through their actions. It's a bit of a break through, so patience may be required.

So no, it's not "generosity".

What the hell was that ?

Look I'm being silly but you seem to take RR seriously when he is being at the very least outlandish...

Without in any way denigrating Watts, don't embarrass yourself. These players are in different leagues. I'd give up two Watts for one Cameron.

Agree with you totally BH

A 10 game player who has performed well without setting the world on fire has become of interest for no real reason and Melbourne supporters want to uproot the base of the club to get him. I'd rather Watts, who will be an outstanding footballer and I'll put my faith in Neeld and co to develop Lucas Cook into a great second foil for Mitch Clark.

I have my hopes for a developing Cook too.

But the rest of your comment is just biased.

If Watts' first 10 games were like Cameron's, there wouldn't be hundreds of threads and media articles questioning/defending him.

He'd be flying by now. Not being a plug while every other player on the list gets tried in what should've been his position.

You can tell early when some have it, Cameron has it, oodles of it.

I think I've worked this out. I'm not meant to assume you're an idiot ?

I rarely give the benefit of the doubt.

Ben, interacting with you is like playing a part in one of those prison movies where the hard-ass (you) eventually warms to the cell-block joker (me) and works out that we're both actually on the same side.

Agree that he's been great theres no doubting but throwing long term high paying contracts at young players is fraught with danger.

We can develop Wattsy and Cook and we'll have two very admirable KPF's, I'm sure of it.

I've watched Jeremy Cameron live 4 times now (including the preseason). Its not just the great athleticism, the frame that will eventually be perfect for a KPP, his marking or anything else.

He seriously knows where to be. He gets to all the right spots almost all of the time. In his first season.

Promising start by Patton and clearly a big watch. But Cameron is the real deal.

You should wait until you've watched GWS not Gold Coast, as Cameron plays for GWS.

oops... sorry, you're right... was against Richmond wasn't it... still prefer to wait until he proves himself against better defences... one game is hardly enough to cement his place as a great forward.

If that was an attempt at a recovery, you're still in the rough.

It's not 1 game and no one said he's cemented as a great forward.

He will be one though, and as has been mentioned he's better than any young tall on our list.

If you don't rate him you clearly haven't watched him.

Do yourself a favour. Watch the kid play first and then share your opinion with us. You obviously havent no matter how much you try to convince me otherwise. You'd rather watts than this kid. Extremely lolworthy

Loved this kid from his first game against the Swans this year. I've been thinking all year how damn good their forward line will be once they get Patton in as well to help out this kid. We've been trying to build a forward line since 2001 and this upstart team comes in and shows us how to do it in one year (albeit with the help of some generous draft concessions).

You're doing yourself a disservice.

And do you have any idea of his courage in marking contests ? At 18 ?

Well, that's the key really isn't it, DG? I reckon we might have done alright with the same draft concessions afforded to GWS and GC. They could afford to get a couple wrong due to the weight of draft picks they were handed.

Meanwhile, haven't seen Cameron play yet. I suspect I will this weekend.

I don't recall saying (or even suggesting) that I don't rate him. You are right, I haven't watched much of him and in fact I was getting him confused with Patton (hence the one game comment).

You haven't seen him so you can't rate him, either way my comment is correct.

You weighed into a discussion you know nothing about, I was just pointing that out.

I'd give them Watts and Viney in a second. This guy is a freak.

Based on what I've seen I rate the kid, but this is a big call. Our forwardline could use some help but it is our midfield that is on life support. Also, short-term thinking perhaps, but the kid needs to run around in the shower to get wet. I'm getting a little tired of recruiting skinny up and comers at this club.

Everyone is buzzing about him this week after an impressive game on the weekend and he'll be a star no doubt, but for Watts AND Viney?

2 words from this time last year....Charlie Dixon......

or from about five years ago....Courtney Johns

or from a few years ago....Justin Koschitzke

let's wait and see shall we.....nothing like a firework that burns brightly and then fizzles out..yes Cameron looks the goods at the moment, but he is eleven games in

Dixon will still be a very good player.

Johns was cut down by injury wasn't he?

Koschitzke has been a solid if underwhelming player. Never showed as much in his first 10 games as Cameron has though.

As mentioned if Watts played as well as Cameron has in his first season we would all be creaming our pants.

Charlie Dixon will be a very good player? yet Cameron will be a superstar?

Johns was not cut down by injury, I would say he was partly cut down by weight of expectation

Kossie showed a hell of a lot and has never properly fulfilled

Great if Cameron does progress, but do we really need to chase? Maybe if he produces next year and kicks 40 or 50, maybe

I'll give you one more name to mull over....Jack Anthony

I'd have left the Jack Anthiny one out, just quietly. Jack Anthony had Thomas, Pendlebury, Swan, Didak et al ramming the ball down his throat when he made his name.

Cameron has a bunch of kids and a bloke who can't hit a barn door and has shown 10 times more than Jack Anthony ever did.

Not a great comparison. Jack kicked goals / looked good in a good side and has been exposed by a mediocre one. Cameron looks a jet in a poor side, among kids, and as a 18(?) year old in his first year in the big time.

So just to clarify, you think Cameron is a dud who wouldn't get a game for us? Have you actually watched him play? Every time I have seen him he has looked exceptional and is only in his first season, but you think he will be a dud and turn into the next Courtney Johns or Jack Anthony? If we did make a play for him (and I think it's moot because I doubt he will leave) then we would have to do it after his first contract, not after he has played 5 years and cemented himself as one of the top forwards in the comp.

What do people think of Trading Sylvia and Ist Rounder for Cameron?

To take the line you're taking I can only assume you haven't seen Cameron play, or it was a very small sample.

If I'm wrong I'd suggest that you shouldn't be applying for a job as a talent scout any time soon.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
