I'll be back later with some snippets from the game.

Yeah bloody sad about Menzel WJ. Good young kid. Do you know if Max will be ready to go start of pre season?

Yeah they need to trial Spencer for a few games and see how he goes.

According to an interview with him on this week's episode of The Robbo Show the aim is (and he's tracking well for it) that he'll be good to go for day one of preseason.

Sheehan did well stats wise...this from Twitter:

Major stats- Sheahan 29,Davey 23, Panozza 22, L.Tynan 21, Bate 21. Multiple goal kickers, Cook 3, Panozza 2, Bate 2 and Lawrence 2

Back or forward?

Jai sheahan has been very impressive this year, anyone seen him live??

Great result to have Sheahan, Davis and Cook named in the best players but unfortunate that Rory Taggert is back on the injured list.

Sheahan has really been the club's big surprise packet at Casey. The good thing about him is that he's been consistent from the practice matches right through to this stage of the season. He finds the ball and uses it well. At the beginning of the season I saw this as a development year for him but now I reckon it might be worth upgrading him and giving him game time in the second half of the season. Nine disposals in the last quarter looks a good return for the youngster whose rookie selection last year now looks to be a real bargain.

The good thing from the club's point of view is that players like Sheahan, Cook, Davis, Fitzpatrick and Tom McDonald give us a good bunch of young KPPs so that we can concentrate a lot of our drafting and trading at the end of the season on getting what we really need the most - some quality mids.

No idea I'm afraid... I just got those stats off twitter.

As a junior could play key forward and in the ruck, has been used at Casey in defence for his development. A bit light on at the moment but that's not been a problem with the GWS boys so I would love to see him at senior level before the end of the season. Good kick, good decision maker.

Trying to remember, at what point are rookies able to play without being upgraded? Is it Rnd16?

Well said. People look for excuses for our kids.....but why??!! Those GWS kids have no fear. Enough said.

It is easy to have no fear when there is no expectation and everyone thinks you are not going to win one game. Look at GCS they have taken a step back as of this stage of the year. Expectation is what it is. Let's see how GWS go over the next few years when they are expected to win more games.

That said we have played with fear for years, but Neeld and co will get them right and trade/draft the right types to take this team to the top 8 within 2 years

Tynan - where did he play and what did he do?

Someone asked re Cook - was he on a skinny kid or a serious defender?

Did Petterd do anything to get at all excited about?

Any obvious replacements for Blease should he not get up?

I went to the game this afternoon, my thoughts:-

Davey I think played well. Looked a little like his old self, selling some candy in traffic also a bit of dodging and weaving, had a really good second half I thought. He chased and laid a few tackles, Maybe bring him in for Blease

I was also impressed with Cook. Took a couple of nice marks but didn't kick straight, i might be wrong but i think he kicked 3 or 4 behinds, most were kickable, he probably should have had 5 or 6. Still a little skinny but he did keep on presenting

Couch I didn't notice get too many touches.

J. Tynan got crunched in a tackle at one stage but got right back up, so good to see he is a little tough nut. again I didn't think he got much of the ball but he is listed in the best players so I might be wrong. I thought his brother was better.

Petterd I saw him running around but didn't really notice him do too much.

J Sheahan was good. I think he played mainly down back but he had a few touches in the middle of the ground in the last qtr. Looks pretty composed when got the ball and he has some good size.

Fitzpatrick - he was servicable. Had flashes where he showed his pace which is good for a big man and a couple of good hitouts when backup in the ruck.

Bate - Seemed to always be around the play and had many touches, did the team things, liked his game.

I'm no footy expert so others may have a different opinion to what i saw but when you win by almost 10 goals there isn't too many bad players

was thinking the same question myself. would love to get some more insight our our first rounder from a couple of years ago.
