Ive been thinking about our current list and with trades and draft picks that may be ready to play straight away put aside I have put together a team with 2 interchange from the current list that will in my opinion be the starting line up in 2015 and in Brackets roughly how many senior games they will have under their belt.

Looking forward for all your opinions and feed back.

Backs Strauss(60) Frawley(140) Bennell(100)

HB Garland(125) McDonald(60) Grimes(70)

C Trengove(80) Mckenzie(90) Watts(90)

HF Jurrah(90) Sheahan(40) Howe(80)

Forwards Cook(45) Clark(135) Blease(60)

Foll Gawn(50) Viney(40) Gysberts(60)

Int Fitzpatrick(50) Jones(160)

In my opinion I like the Spine backs and forwards and love fitzpatrick on the pine to help gawn and clark a 3 way rotation if needed. But this team lacks pace.

not a bad guess mate.

I'd flip a coin between which of Bartram, Bennell, Jetta, Strauss, Tynan and Tapscott will be holding down back pocket gigs in 3 years time

Posted

Bartram will be 30, Tynan who knows he has shown not much, Jetta NO way and Tappy maybe

Correction thankyou

I was thinking more about the players we have know, the draftees unless special will need time and who knows who we will get trading

No Magner?

No Magner?

I love Magner but yet to see a weapon other than hunger. I hope it works for him but need to see what he can offer once other teams respect him

I tend to agree, i think he gets the contested footy, and has limited options with the way the team spreads atm, but has had pretty horrible disposal efficiency and imo that may be one reason he is becoming a tagger atm. Still plays an important role and can fight Jordie for that imo.

then again, 2 pre-seasons could be anything.

Cam Mooney spoke about Geelong on the radio recently and how early on in Bomba Thompson's time, he, Ling, Chapman, Enright, Bartel, Corey, Steve Johnson and Mackie all played games when they didn't deserve them at times, but then bang, when they all hit 100 and surpassed 100 games, it just clicked.

Food for thought.

Because this is an online mental hospital for Melbourne fans who have lost the plot ( and the novel).

Tappy is redundant

Stef Martin is gone-missed a few game-trade him.

Watt is basically retarded

Trengove too slow

Jamar too old

This time last year Jones wasnt going to be good enough.

Blah Blah Blah.

You don't think Tynan has shown much? He debuted in round 1 after being a #52 pick, played a better game than many of our senior players, got dropped (questionably) and then injured his foot at Casey. I don't think many people last year would have picked our #52 pick to have played a senior game by now. I think Tynan has shown plenty, and he will be a very important player for our side in the future.

No matter how many thoroughbred footballers we have, they are as useless as [censored] on a bull if not hungry. Our only glimmer of hope at the moment are Magner, Clark and Jones who are the only ones who seem to want to do something positive for this club on the field. They work so much harder than the suite of overpaid prima donnas we have recruited over the years.

Definitely for the benefit of Geelong that they showed their faith in Thompson and extended his contract amidst those few shaky seasons pre early 07

Overall I like it.

Strauss remains, in my mind, a "hopeful", and Sheehan and Cook surely even more speculative.

I personally look forward to Tom McDonald at CHF, but IF, and that is a big IF, all those develop as best hoped then we could be getting somewhere good!
