Which probably smells a lot better than where you've currently got your head.

Again easy to ignore - but par for around here. You just keep "blaming" BP - if that makes YOU feel better. You are a typical MFC supporter - sadly.

Posted

Yeah my point is losing BP is no win for us circa 2012. RR contention was " an "opposition analyst" gig at Carlton, which let's face it is really just a glorified number-cruncher," - (cough cough)

AAAAARGHHHHH! That's the sound of me poking my eyes out with a pencil!

Ok to clarify it was really unfortunate that we allowed Carlton to head hunt BP, he will do a swell job there, as if Carlton (an AFL club after all) would be so silly to trumpet his vital role all over their website, he has a fantastic skill set (know all the gun 18 year olds, can analyse every other AFL list etc etc) and losing BP circa 2012 is a huge loss for the MFC.

Now for the love of god desist!

I was merely defending BP and the false accusations that he did a bad job - Maybe there are bigger issues at play. But sadly the penny just wont drop for some.

According to the The AGE last week we have recruited poorly and/or the evolution of the press defeated our recruiting.

This is what we started with -

According to the The AGE last week we have recruited poorly and/or the evolution of the press defeated our recruiting.

Barry P slunk off rather quietly and I wondering whether this was a Neeld driven situation after arriving and assessing all of the draftees of the past 5 or 7 years? Or did he see the writing on the wall?

No he did not he quit. If any writing he "saw on the wall" - was he would get the "blame" by some of our ignorant supporters. Hope I've proved that now

It's clear there has been a lot of clearing out of the footy dept (with the exception of Mahoney and Royal) so has anyone heard anything concrete on BPs departure?

Yes - circ 2012 the recruiting process is evolving. The pivotal roles are no longer just "talent identification with kids" - in-fact its all about how players can be implemented into your whole structure - & these can be found in all areas in the recruiting process ie draft table, trade-table & soon Free agency.

BP was "head-hunted" by Carlton - smart move Carlton.

Hope that answers the initially question.

Cameron admitted on this site some years ago that recruiting Molan was an error of judgement given they went for specific type with the first pick as opposed to best available.

Please advise whose judgement was wrong - Cameron or the coach.

Possibly neither! Ok I know that may sound stupid - but neither could have for-seen his injuries.

The key question is - Why did we not have the ability to "over-come" those injuries & get him back to full fitness.

Again if 2001 taught us something - it rammed home that your injury/recovery/fitness people had elevated themselves in the scale of importance.

both Hawthorn & St Kilda over-looked Judd because of shoulder injury, op, etc - but WC pounced because they were prepared to back their "injury/recovery/fitness people" beacuse of the huge $$$$$ they were spending in that area.

Ironically at the time neither Hawks or Saints were spending anything close to Eagles - such is life.

No the eagles pounced because he was still there at 3. Next you'll say they would've taken him at 1.

Wrong again big boy - but such is life. Would have been easy for Eagles to "pass" on a Vic boy with "injury problems" - but they backed themselves.

Ultimately the "package" was to return to VIC - hehehehehe!

Almost exactly the same when he was returning to Vic - he had to find a high spending club to "maximise" his game time - some injuries you just HAVE to manage properly - in reality he had only two choices where he felt comfortable - Collingwood & Carlton. But it was obvious to all Collingwood (IMHO his first choice) could never get the deal done.

Hello Carlton - Hello Richard - Hello Swanney.

Cheers

Hodge, Ball and Judd were unanimous top 3 in 2001 and the Eagles had pick 3 - yeah they backed themselves to pick the one that was left.

Or he took one look at the Junction Oval facilities ... well done Einstein!

Next it'll be Napoleon and Hitler invaded Russia because of their love of biathlon.

You miss the point big boy - but you are good at that. So are many around here. (if thats not a hint - nothing is)

St Kilda & Hawthorn overlooked him for those injury concerns - Eagles backed themselves - rest is history. But their (Eagles) "biggest fear" was realised a few years later - hehehehehe. Juddy "never" forgave for that (Saints & Hawks) - good onya Juddy.

"Or he took one look at the Junction Oval facilities" - wrong again big boy. The "deal" was done long before he ever "looked at Junction Oval".

Your last comment - I will ignore but accept as par for the course around here.

But it does surprise me coming from a "mod" - you might still have a bee in your bonnet about something. I apologise for not being 100% upfront with you on that one - but such is life.

Dr, your logic is like the anti tardis. It looks very small from the outside but once you get inside the door you realise it is infinitely smaller.

Though credit where credit is due, if you are a troll you are a remarkably persistent one.

A sentence describing itself?

Definitely sounds sillier circa 2012 - but thats why we pay the recovery/fitness boys big $$$$$$ to manage those injuries properly in 2012.

hahahahahaha - how is you number crunching going - LMAO - detail his role on their website - LMAO

But you could stick to the topic - take a "ticket" - like the ones you have pinned all over yourself - happy to discuss the "real" footy facts with you any-day!

Wow. Bi-polar comes to mind....

hehehehe - I'm "Bi-polar" is that because I clearly pointed out that your tone in the op was insulting & obviously incorrect.

I thought a closer definition of Bi-polar would be our so called Melbourne "supporters" coming here spreading clearly depressing negative comments about BP.

I for one wish BP all the best with his new challenging job at Carlton - thank him for his 4+ years of service at the MFC - and look forward to the days we can smash the Blues on the ground.

ALL the best BP

Go Dees
