Got rid of Malthouse too early

Chook, I think you're being very generous to Jurrah and Bennell to say the jury's out. Hope you're wrong.

My jury has been well and truly in on Davey and Bennell for about two years. I just want to see Jetta's body let him string a couple of games together before I judge him, and the jury literally is out on Liam Jurrah.

I don't think Buckley is really coaching Collingwood. In the same way Hird isn't coaching Essendon.

They're just faces, puppets, to put on the front stage while a team of assistant coaches do the actual coaching backstage.

I think their personalities are too big to not be involved. Hird I reckon will come good, very intelligent guy with a lot of empathy for those around him, but Buckley will probably go the way of Voss and be more frustrated with a lack of intensity than trying to mentor the young kids.

They were at their best when being able to lead by example but when it comes to stepping back and leading a team from behind the glass, I don't think it's gonna work. You could see in the way Buckley was reacting to the game, he wasn't analysing it trying to to work out what needed to be changed, he was getting angry with small mistakes and in the end it all compounded. I reckon they'll have to put aside their own passion and their idea of how the game should be played if they want to become good coaches. The problem with those two is that they can see every player as a reflection of themselves and very few were as hard at it and putting in as much as those two so everyone on the ground is immediately not putting in as much as they should be. Getting angry about it is only going to hurt them in the end.

All the same it doesn't heaps worry me if it gives us two teams we can eventually walk over.

Maybe Malthouse is sitting there going "this is awesome!" and Bucks has just been stooged by the bottom dropping out at the wrong time.

Still, it's three weeks in and they've lost to the two premiership favourites so I wouldn't be burning his effigy just yet.

At least if they do go under at a million miles an a hour at least they managed to snag one premiership first.

With a fit Waite and Jamison Carlton a much better side than last year. Definite flag chance. On a par with those other three sides.

Harmison and Kreuzer the two big keys along with the best midfield.

Interesting to hear the commentary about players missing at the mo, Didak, Tarrant and Johnson, but all of these have their best football behind them. With Swan talking retirement and Cloke thinking about GWS maybe all is not well at Eddie land, well at least we can think it for this week. It's a long season and it looks a bit more open, at least for the moment.

Me and a mate took Wobblies to miss the 8 at 6/1.....just a bit of fun really and so we can show the ticket to our filth mates.......and you should have seen the looks we got.....now its even funnier.
