Little Lord Voldemort

My guess is essendon have done 3 things, only 2 so far

1. watch the media hype up the Hurley contract

2. had a third party leak to Schwarz.

3. Will sign their man amongst much fanfare and pronounce the strength and greatness blah blah blah of Essendon.

Clever media work by them.

was that what we were trying to do last year?

Would not be surprised if we coughed up our compensation picks and snagged Scott Pendlebury considering his connection with Mark Neeld. Have heard whispers along the way as well. Probably helps with Leigh Brown being at the club also. Let's hope it happens.

By the way if GWS are offering Cloke that amount... Is there a never ending salary cap!! Has to stop somewhere! Will be quite funny when their kids hit their straps, demand more money and don't get it.. There will be a lot of kids returning home, that's my prediction anyway.

Don't think collingwood are going to give up one of the best players in the league for 2 picks just so mark and scott can hold hands and skip through a field of flowers together again.....

I'm sure anyone with half a brain would know there would more options than just the two picks. Leave it up to the pros.

We're not that clever

Don't take it for granted that Hurley is GWS's key forward target. The Herald Sun is reporting that their real aim is to snare a Magpie - Giant play for Collingwood's Travis Cloke.

Another HUN article on the many AFL players who are spurning the big money offers to remain loyal to their clubs [AFL stars turning down big-money moves] states that "Hurley, who knocked back an offer from the Suns, is also tipped to reject a spell-binding offer from GWS to remain at Essendon."

While nobody begrudges players the right to earn a fair whack from the sport, it's also refreshing to know that loyalty is still important to some players.

With the GWS benefits and free agency operating at the end of the year, it's going to be interesting to see how things pan out.

If they make a good offer to Cloke he will go. I was frantically searching ( without luck) for an interview I vividly remember him doing for the papers after he re-signed last time around. It was very frank and revealing - loyalty wasnt high on his priority list.

1/ Essendon got into him big time

2/ He said players had to look after their own interests

3/ ( the most revealing comment) - In the end the difference between the Essendon and Collingwood offer was not big enough to warrant a move

Unless he has had a change in thinking, if GWS throw big money at Cloke that the Pies cant get close to, he will go.

We at Demonland have thought long and hard about when is the appropriate time to put an end to the Voldemort threads and have come up with June 24, 2012 to enable us to come to closure with this person and his family.

Anything to do with him will be finished, kaput, over after we give GWS a flogging in Round 13 including the thread dedicated to anything but the little creep him.

That still leaves us with 122 days to bag the living suitcases out of the Little Lord and co.

PS: if I forget, could someone please remind me of the date?

I know I'm not allowed to talk about Hird's love life here ,but the Travis Cloke story brings tears of joy to me eyes .

I believe we are watching the disintegration of the Collingwood Farceball Club .........again .

Bobby ... I'm going to post this for you and anyone else who keeps chiming in with this inane 'close the thread' nonsense.

Merriam-Webster have a nice, clear, concise definition of the word "option". Have a read ... http://www.merriam-w...ctionary/option

As in ... you have the option not to click on, open and read the thread. Cheers.

Thanks for the English lesson! I had no idea what the word 'option' meant. The thread in question is just wasting space on the forum serving absolutely no real purpose.Do people really think $cully is reading their remarks?

Can we have an option on re-opening this topic of conversation should we play Franchise FC in a final?

As long as there are articles printed in the Media about the little turd, i think we should be able to vent...as time goes on it will die down....But in 2 years time if the $cully Knee does explode or something similiar i would want to leave a message or two....For those who so not wish to read....Do not open....Simple.

I can only take so much of this abuse of "a fine young man".About 6 years more will do-if the knee holds up that long .

If his knee explodes or the old man bursts like a balloon after feasting on Chiko Rolls and dim sims, we'll allow new threads to open because such things are matters of public interest but, at some stage we have to let go.

Just let the threads slow down in there own time. His career elsewhere will always be watched. For better or worse.

Threads like this are vital for their theraputic value.

Were they available in the 1960's I might already be over my bitter and twisted dislike for that disloyal ex-player, Barassi.

May the Paul Wheatley locker be encased in gold and locked forever and number 31 removed from our playing list numbers.

You should be grateful to Scully.

He has lifted the curse laid on this club when Barassi left.

Great, storied player, premiership captain, etc, no. 31, leaves. Club founders.

We tried to reverse the curse by doing the opposite: getting a feted player to come and be no. 31. (Templeton.) But that didn't work. The gods are fickle.

As so often in these things, the remedy was unexpected and with a twist. Another no. 31 has to leave.

A not great, not storied (well maybe a little bit), not premiership player, not captain, but no. 31, leaves the club. Curse broken. Glory ensues.

For those who doubt, as proof I offer this: you will remember that in all tales such as this, a key figure is always a wizened and spiteful old gnome who talks gibberish.

I couldn't care less if $cully reads it or not. The thread serves a great purpose. Don't like don't open it. VERY simple stuff.

24th June will the 2year aniversary of when KRudd got smashed by Gillard! Something Rudd has never gotten over.

Things are not looking so bad now. Collingwood, Esssendon and others now can go through the angst we had last season. Its all in th past and the future looks more promising than for an awful long time. In hindsight it appears that it may have be a blessing in disguise that TS chose to leave. We have two compo picks to mull over and young Viney coming along. And we still have a very ripe whipping boy to vent out our frustrations on.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
