Spot on mate. The best we ever played and we lost. Sadly it summed up the ND years in one game. Hope ya find it.

Why do people bring up these horrible memories?

Trapper played the game of his life, especially when Powelly was knocked out. Whoppa kicked a magnificent goal from the boundary, on the run, 40 metres out - I was sitting right behind the kick and an old fool like me dared to dream..........but, alas!

Oh well, bring on 2012!!!

Remember that game I was at a mates 30th, his wife booked a restaurant wihich didn't have a tv, I wathed the 1st and 2nd quarters and listed to the 3rd on the way to the restaurant and was feeling confident. I asked one of the barmen during the party if he knew who won and he said Melbourne, I was happy as thinking bring on the Pies in the prelim next week, then we got back to me mates house and watched the 2nd half of the replay, f#%k I was gutted and wasn't saying too many good things about the barman.

Ran out of Gas literally. I hope the club still have a copy. It would be an interesting learning tool. How not to play a first Quarter.

Absolute disaster of a game from ND. We had them on the ropes at 3/4 time, yet the players were stuffed.

Lost track of the times that the ball came out of the centre and was marked uncontested by Adelaide talls in their forward line.

And the whole time ND had Darren Jolly sitting on the bench!

As usual, he finally got a run with 5 minutes to go when the game was lost. He could have sat at CHB, having a field day, and we would have been in the Prelim.

Was there... What was it.. 8 goals to 1 in the first, with the sole goal coming in with about 2 minutes to play?

Disappointing that McLeod's foot wasn't as injured as it appeared earlier in the game. Trapper played the half of his life. Unfortunately it was in Q2/3, and not Q3/4!

Can't believe it was 10 years ago.

Amazing game - I was there with my 8 year old son - he's nearly 18 now & we still talk about that evening.

40 points down @ quarter time.

Stunning 2nd & 3rd terms.

Trapper was simply a freak in those quarters, Neitz wasn't far behind.

Peter Walsh slams a goal through close on 3 quarter time & we are about 28 points up.

Still to this day don't know how we lost that night.

It hurt that night however you left knowing you had witnessed something very special

What can I say, I spend way to much time on a computer. Nerd life.....

Unfortunately it doesn't host all matches (mainly older games) but theres some good replays in there.

Something very special alright........I was down the coast that night and very nearly permanently embedded a bottle top into the TV screen during the last quarter.

I'm on the cellphone right now, can you download games or specific quarters to your hard drive or just view?

The energy change at the game was incredible. Each Quarter was different. Never forget it.

Was also the last time i sat in the old smokers stand. I love the new 'G, but i miss that old Grandstand.

Some games are broken into quarters and others are left as one single large file. But yes you can download or rip them.

Cool. I haven't seen the 2002 game since a bout a week after it happened on replay. The ending was just too much. Up there with '87

I just finished watching the week before against the Roos! The crows game is next.

The '87 match was before my time but it is legend in my family. I have never seen the whole match only the awful ending.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
