Sounds from the radio like a couple of contests have been shirked in the first half. Jones was mentioned which surpised me - anybody watching and see this

Confusion in the back half, where everyone waited for someone else to get in under a floater. Jones was closest, but it was really Jamar's man. Jones been good for mine.

That's true, I wouldn't have called that a shirk either, just confusion and a bit of misreading the flight of a horrible King floater.

Definitely. Jones spectated while Graham marked uncontested, and then goaled.

Are the same people that rejected Hardwick and selected Bailey making the call again this time?

Tigers play with heart and spirit, they may not have all the tools but they use what they have and they all put in.

I don't agree Kento. When its your turn to go you gotta go, no matter whose man it is.

I don't think we are missing anything with Hardwick but your point is still valid.

Richmond should not be the same same as us, We should be above them, there in lies a massive problem with this football club. We have much more talent than they do, but unlike us, they have players who play with heart, desire and aggression.

I asked your Mum and Dad, they said yes.

As I said Richmond are at where we are at, we have talent but no size, they are hard and agressive two different styles of sides. Viney is trying to adress the problems from the previous structure but it takes time and can not be turned around so quickly. As I said previously we are still a couple of years away can you just go to the game without thinking it's Richmond so we should win. Jurrah & Sylvia have been running hard and showing a bit after being sent back to the magoos, Viney said on ABC today being captain doesn't guarentee you a start Brad is on the benc because his preparation for this week didn't warrant starting. From where I see it today we are showing endeavour and effort, which if anything is a step up. All I ask is for supporters to stop turning on the boys, the overall change will take time and a few more seasons.

I don't disgree with you, but I think Jones has enough currency to say that he would not shirk any contest, and IMO it looked more like he was a bit confused than anything. I wasn't referring to whose man it was, more that he may have misread the flight of the ball (as I said). That is just my assessment of the situation.

It did surprise me - sounds more likely from previous experience that they would all have NFI what was going on, and nobody would end up spoiling.

But he's just kicked a goal so let's cut him some slack.

Jordie McKenzie, well done. And beautifully finished Jack Watts!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
