The Tom Scully Saga © continues ...

There's a big difference between sell the dream and sell the lie. That's the whole point of my original post - MFC must believe that it is still possible to sign Scully.

Well..they cant show you a picture of 2012 players can they. So thery use current. They're within rights to utilise alll imagery as they see fit. I take more out of the textual component of that email than the pics.;)

I do understand Old what youre saying. hence my suggestion ealier there is possibly some ground thats less black and white than grey.

But as no one can ( or wants to ) categorically say anythiing other than allowing impressions to pervade then they simply use what they have. Could be naughty, could be nice, at the end of season we'll check our list twice !!

It's an interesting scenario because if MM did agree to join us he'd want to retain Scully, on the other hand he'd be paranoid about it leaking. If Scully was told it would have to be with MMs OK obviously - maybe they'd have a meeting - they could borrow Control's Cone of Silence.

Absolutely. Leave management out. Just MM and TS.

They wouldn't need to say anything specific, Mick "Good coffee in Melbourne, eh Tom?" should do the trick. Does Tom actually drink caffeine - would be worth finding out in advance.

Just to be safe they could use this one:

Precisely. Tom "Sure does Mick, beats the hell out of falafel, that's for sure!"

Apologies in advance.

Here's how they should use it. Not good for his knee IMO:

I purposefully didnt include Ablett as the Ablett saga paled into insignificance compared to this ( or am I too close to it because he is an MFC player ?)

ask Ablett, Thompson, Balme, Cook, Geelong leadership group, Frank Costa if they feel the Scully situation is far larger than the Ablett one of 12 months ago.

i think you will be laughed at by all of the above mentioned

You are.

I therefore add Ablett to Judd coming home as the biggest media frenzy in my lifetime...hmmm ...not sure what difference that makes.

Speaking of impecible sources - Eddie MacGuire congratulated Melbourne two years ago on radio on the coup of what he believed was the signing of Judd by Melbourne and 48 hours later Judd announced that Melbourne was out of the race for his services.

From what i heard from few reliable sources there has definietly been a handshake agreement with Tom Scully and GWS, but then Tom Scully had a change of heart and revealed the club this secret and said he don't want to go to GWS and will sign with the demons at the end of the season then Melbourne demons decided to safe Scully from media and announce a press conference and tell there has been no approach, but few media has found out about it and reveal the story but they hasn't figure out Sculy change his mind and because Scully hasn't sign anything he will sign with the demons at the end of the season.

If i have proven wrong i wouldn't mind every insult that comes my way

i'm 100% sure about my source.

That's why i always say Tom Scully stay with dees.

Awsome if ture, but can you really trust some one with such loose grammer

this thread puts an image in my head of an old asian man at his desk typing as he speaks it out

I apologized for my bad English, with the excitement of finding the news i just didn't care about my grammar,

And I feel bad that an old asian guy got the blame because of my bad grammar.

Strange article that.

It says Scully is off, Ward may stay, Thomas will definitely stay, but that GWS has reached its max for salaries next year...

They don't know a damn thing...

You're right........another nothing article!

Fellow Demonlanders this is three weeks in a row now you have fallen for nonsense articles written by Kim Hagdorn. A hack journo from WA who has absolutley no credibility.

Article a fortnight ago was about the Dees targetting Worsfold as coach

Last week was about 7 (yes 7!) players out of contract wanting to move on and not re-sign.

FFS can we close the Scully threads until an announcemnet is made either way, nothing we say or do will change whatever decision is to be made.

There's only one Judd - he is a freak - he played something like that in his 2nd year. As someone accurately observed he's like a white pointer in a school of fish.

I was watching Judd when we played Blues at the G a few weeks back and he seriously reminded me of a great white...wades into the fifty...everyone knows he is there and you know he is going to get the footy and do something damaging...no wonder Blues fans roll out the red carpet when he comes to the bench...

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
