Hmmm..Horses mouth. He needs to give a bit that will fix things.

Bravo on the a) to e). Its the best analysis you have conjured to date. Its a pity you cant understand people's right (particularly when they commit the considerable capital) to question the performance and activities of elements a) to d) yet you perpetually attack other supporters. Either you want to [censored] one small element e) in the whole picture to try and be different to the herd with bizarre double standards and naivety. You take wide swipes at people who dare raise a question on those a) to d) elements as "blaming" yet you ping fellow supporters. No wonder you cant see the broader picture.

Rpfc has summed it well as why we question those elements entrusted by members/supporters.

You keep saying and there's no argument from me on that.

Good choice but Teddy Bear's picnic captures the moment.

Thanks Rhino I expected nothing less of you ... I might be simple ... but ...

We accept you are about as flexible as a 6ft wide steel pole. Your "herd" has already convinced my your type are a powerless voice in this club. Have it the way you want ... continue with your little chat amongst yourselves.

PS ... I re-read your reply. Just to clear up one little point ... I never said they didn't have the right ... I've always questioned the way they say it. I'm a big boy I can handle it ... just hope you are right everybody can handle it in the way its intended ... But as I said you go ahead and have a crack any way you want.

I will continue to support the players and club a to d in effect over e any day. Im actually quite enjoying my yearly trip to Geelong in a strange sort of way. I couldn't make Darwin this year but I'm looking forward to it next year.

Good luck with your approach as a collective.

Big question for me is ... would half your members say the same to people face as they would behind their back inside this forum. ahhhhh I will leave them to answer that.

And the same question would apply to you. Maintain those high double standards.

So Schwab gets a 1 yr contract/extension, does anyone know where Connolly sits and what are people's thoughts on his value and tenure with the club?

From Caro:

"Lyon should get hold of the Andrews report. Fifteen to 20 players were interviewed for the report and the overwhelming finding from players and coaches was that Connolly - for all his good public work - was the wrong man to head the football department. He seems the most likely next casualty and at least faces a sideways move. Connolly has been re-contracted but there will be no major payout involved should he leave."

So it sounds like 'Caro' has read the Andrews report. Wonder how she got a copy.

Interesting you like avoiding the question. Ok ... I'm happy to go first.

But just to make it clear.

Yip I would be 110% happy to repeat anything I have said in this forum to any member of the board, our CEO, our footy department & our players past or present. If you can point out 1 thing I have ever said thats offensive to any of them please just tell me.

Yip I would be 110% happy to repeat anything I've said about any other member of this forum.

Now you should be quite happy to answer me? This time.

Are you happy I quote some of the comments of this forum as the words of how some Melbourne supporters think? The very words that you support as their "rights" and you defends those "rights" so vigorously. How a-d have let us down so much. (Look I'm happy to overlook where we started before the group you tell everyone about their "terrible failings")

Are you happy to repeat your words about their complete consistent lack of leadership. "From Stynes down to the playing list there has been some terrible failings and there is a consistent lack of leadership at a number of levels." Just tell me who specifically you are referring too.

Over to you now. Simple question.

PS ... I just want to make it clear I accept their right to say something ... I just question they way they say it.

This is true, why wouldn't anyone say it to any of them given the chance?

Jimmy is unwell and he'd be the first to admit his health problems have got in the way of his leadership. His health must come first, no question.

As for the rest of them, which management or on-field leaders would you uphold as shining lights of best-practice leadership?

Shortly we're about to discover what leadership abilities G. Lyon possesses. Fingers crossed.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
