I thought Watts looked like he was really struggling with the conditions. He didn't have his usual run and the set shot he missed looked like his legs were made of rubber. However, when he got the ball he used it with his usual poise. How was his assist to Gysberts?

The good.

Frawley- what an awesome player

Pettard- since he was dropped he has realised the effort required from him and has been excellent. Adds something to our forward line when he's tackling and pressuring

Martin- Loving his work around the ground. Jamar/Martin a really strong duo now, with Gawn and Spenser in the wings, our weakness at the start of the season is looking strong again.

Sylvia, Moloney and Trengove- love your midfield work boys

Jurrah special mention- it's not all going perfectly for him atm, but he's such a talent, i don't like how many times he was mentioned in the thread 'disappointments of season 2011'. He's still so young and has kicked 33 goals in 14 games is a great effort. Has been forced to play as the prime target way too much when he should be third tall

The bad

Morton- a little disappointing, can tell he's trying to go hard when its his turn, but is over thinking things. Needs confidence. I think a full pre-season will make a huge difference, last 2 years he's had long term injuries in the lead up to round 1, I think people underestimate how much behind the black ball you are without a proper pre-season

Interesting thing watching Morton's game (and I agree he wasn't great tonight). He seems to be trying to be physical and just not quite know how to do it. A couple of times he went in really hard to bump his man off the ball, and while I applaud the effort, he looked really ungainly and didn't really have the impact he was trying for. If he can learn to use his size a little better it will be a huge advantage for him playing in the midfield.
