I know the MFC is the closest it has been since 1964 to the ultimate prize.I just hope the stars align and we luck out before we are killed with rule changes and the AFL squandering $$$ on favourite love childs.

This is also my main concern with the Scully situation. We need to keep the majority of our star kids to win the premiership and I dont want to pay above the odds on any one of them.

If he genuinely expects to stay I'd be surprised if he doesn't bring contract talks with the MFC forward. He now has both entities best offers. The notion that he needs to concentrate on his footy before addressing the issue isn't overly plausible. No matter how focussed an individual this cloud hanging over him is the very obstacle preventing a clear mind and a pressure free environment that's conducive to best performance. He'd also be aware that his situation is an imposition to his teammates.

I'm confused. Scully was tagged tonight but still did some amazing things. put his body on the line time and time again last night. And just because he didn't get much of the footy ( despite being blanketed by a seasoned tagger) people all of a sudden don't think he will be a star? Tom Scully will be a star and everything he does suggests that. There is a reason Scully will always get the number 1 tag before Trengove. Think about that. All of the opposition clubs think that too.

And if we are going to point the finger and suggest that Watts is the one that is worth the 'Scully money' then i'm guessing you didn't watch last nights game. He was hopeless. Needed a bucket to pick up the ball and got faked out by several players. looked like Morton Take 2 out there.

If he is holding back to see who will coach us next season is a red herring planted by his manager to hold back the inevitable. Tom has never said this. The only way this proposition is probable is if Tom has a sour relationship with Dean and is wanting him to go. But not likely. Despite your trust in him your doubts are well founded.

But he doesn't know what the GWS offer is because Peter Blucher said he he doesn't want to know until after the season. He's too focussed on this season and too busy training.

Say we lose Scully and get one first round pick, with that pick slated to come after our normal pick.

We use the pick in 2012.

We tank and come last and we get picks 1 & 2 in 2012.

I'm amazed at how anyone could be so sure that 'he should have been there'. Obviously you have more facts available than I do, eg. how many metres between the cool room and the room where TS was being treated? Was it possible to interrupt the treatment underway and get there in time? Would the docs know when the siren was going to sound to get him off the table on on the way to the cool room in time? I'd want top know all that before I even thought of saying 'should have been there'. And as for taking the next step to draw conclusions about implications for contract signing - just amazed anyone would do it.

The manager, Blucher has said that the decision will be made shortly after the home and aways. He has also inferred in the same interview that the decision may be based on who is coaching next season. Now everyone knows that the coaching decision would not be made that quickly (esp with MM as a possibility) so there is a lack of plain-speak here.

I don't know but at a guess I'd say whoever finished lower on the ladder would get first pick. So say we finish 6th next year and Geelong finish 3rd our pick would come before there's.

That's just a guess though so couldn't say for certain but you could probably get an idea by looking at last year's draft order.
