So,

If we lose on Saturday night, I will leave the country.

Really, with their injuries and form, we should smash them but it is Melbourne.

Ins : Tapscott, (sub?)

Outs : Morton

Would love to see Tappy start sub, bring him on in the second half and throw him

in the guts.

Give Bleasey a full game against this mob.

Does anyone know how Tappy went for Casey? I heard Bate kicked a couple but who would you drop for him? Maybe Jurrah needs some Casey time.

Just the one change for me.

Thoughts?

Joel Mac will come straight back in as well....

Wouldn't be suprised to see Davey played at FP.

Outs : Morton

Thoughts?

Quelle surprise!

Might want to make that your sig.

I know I am on my favorite hobby horse but why would you leave Bennell in the team.

Apparently did little at Casey yesterday, that follows poor form vs the bulldogs when he was subbed off.

There are few playong well at Casey that should get a look in.

Remember we played poorly ten days ago.

Surely there is room for 2 -3 changes.

I think Blease ( poor yesterday ), Bennell should be dropped and Gysberts, Strauss and Nicholson are in danger.

We have Tapscott, Bate, Bartram , Maric and Mcnamara ( best on ground ) Plus Mcdonald ( if he has recovered)playing well and available.

I think.

Out: Blease, Bennel, Gysberts and Strauss

In: Tapscott, Maric, Bate and either Mcdonald ( if fit ) or Bartram.

4 changes is a big one for the Dees so there will probably only be 2

Gee I would He has been out for weeks with a leg injury

and his form was poor before the injury.

Bennell I can uderstand but why Gysberts and Strauss, if there is a change it will probably be Tapscott for Bennell only, if you listen to Mark Jamar on BTG , consistency is the key

Outs : Morton

Surely you would give the trade bait a chance at redemption?

Might lift his trade value...

You should do stand up, old.

You would be good at it.

Does his current form warrant a spot in our 22?

I will judge your understanding of the game after you answer.

Completely forgot about Bennell and agree his form has been well down.

Joel Mac to come in for him too.

Did he mean consistency in games or performance.

If he was talking about performance he would be in danger of keeping his spot!

( only joking )

After a poor performance against the bulldogs I think a few changes are necessary.

Gysberts and Strauss would be unlucky but I need to get a couple of others in and they were the ones in danger.

Only my opinion

Strauss is resurrecting his career and Gysberts is a thin Pendlebury.

And Blease has played a qtr and a bit.

Don't see why really.

Bennell has to go. I'm happy to drop Morton too. Blease stays, give him a full game and see how he goes.

Tapscott and MacDonald come in. Seems pretty simple to me.

So you are only making one change Bennell out Tapscott in?

Have we all forgotten we got belted by a team not yet in the eight.

It was a pitiful performance and then only one change!

You are getting rid of players for the sake of getting rid of players?!

Strauss and Gysberts had 40 (albeit wayward) touches between them.

Garland had a 1 tackle, I contested possession game if you want to make a statement from the last round.

Moloney was down on output, Sylvia was ineffectual, Green has been, well, the less said the better...

Maybe - if someone HAS to be dropped after that performance against a team outside the eight (which of course we are now...)...

OUT: Bennell, Garland, Sylvia, Green and Moloney the sub.

Now that is a statement!

Whatever happens, Bennell has to go.

Needs to find the footy an average of 6 or 7 more times a game and has shown he is not capable of doing that at senior level, yet.

IN: Tapscott, Davey, Joel Macdonald

OUT: Morton, Bennell, Blease

Nicho or Tapscott to be sub.

Morton: I'm banging on the same drum, but goddamn he offers nothing.

Bennell: Slightly unlucky, but he really offers a pinch role right now - he's great against those dangerous small-forward types (Krakouer, Nahas, Betts etc) but gets smashed by anyone throwing their body around. Port don't have one so this is more of a tactical move.

Blease: Unfortunate, but will get another go, I'm sure.

But you want to lay that defeat at Blease's feet after 1 quarter?

Bennell a definite out.

Morton a probable out.

Tapscott a definite in.

Maric a probable in.

Edit: i got my weeks mixed up re MacDonald. MacDonald depends on his knee...

'One touch' players with great hands area must in Darwin, so to me Bater should not play this week, but maybe come in for the Hawks.

Tapscott has to come in after 2 games with Casey. Blease out.

I'd keep Bennell in for one more go in the heat, after a determined showing in the clinches @ Casey on the weekend.

time to drop our bruise free footballers and bring in our bruisers!

rpfc I would drop one of Garland, Sylvia or Green.

But it will not happen, the MC have shown they will not drop these guys

even though they have had a number very ordinary games this year.

IMO the only reason Green has played all games this year is because he is the Captain.

I just believe we need to change a few this week to show that you have to earn your spot.

You will get no complaint from me if Green/ Sylvia were dropped.

But it will not happen so who do you take out?

We then get down to the types I have suggested. Might be a bit unfair but someone has to make way for guys who have been playing well at Casey.

Please lets not forget we have lost two of the last four matches by an average of 76 points.

We are far from smooth sailing at present.

Do you think Bennell's replacemnet might faint in Darwin?

Do you think Bennell's replacemnet might faint in Darwin?

I want Bennell to harden up more than most supporters,& I've been leading the charge for him to get tough.

But in Darwin we must play the guys that will suit those extra ordinary conditions. we need as much speed, agility, good hands, and run as possible and less large footballers. In short we need all of Nicholson, Bennell, Strauss, & Jurrah to play.

Tapscott in as well, for Blease who isn't handling the ball as well just yet.

As far as fainting, I wonder if we'd play one ruck as the sub? Or Dunn? Maybe rest Jamar for Hawthorn. Or play Dunn & sub Jamar.

You are now getting way to complex for our FD.

In spite of what i might want I think there will only be one change.

Tapscott in for Bennell.

PS The fainting refered to a comment of playing Bennell because it would be hot in Darwin.

Moloney the sub.

the bloke would be comfortably leading the B+F, is a clear leader and plays harder than anyone

what more does he have to do to impress some people?

surely Davey is no chance of playing been a long lay off and will need a run at casey...

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
