Will be hoping for a huge Tigers win next week.

Plus MFC can not be beaten!

Life will be good then.

Found a classic song on

http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/28948-nuggets-music-videos/page-13

Though of Mark Neeld right away the lyrics are "your don't know how to easy my pain" and "you make me want to cry"

Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!

Down side is there no banana in the clip.

It's been about 2 years since I've posted in here and all I'll say is that right now all the money being punted on Paul Roos may just barely be enough to buy a bunch of bananas!

I'll be too Franz Liszt to worry.

In that condition you should be able to do a great James Strauss waltz.

Welcome back

Depends how big the bunch is!

LOL

Its my farewell to Mark in celebration of the last game of the season.

TBH I am feeling a little pain.

But without pain there is no gain.

Pretty decent effort winning 3/4's considering we were smashed in clearances, possessions and umpiring and with an injury depleted team.

Not long home from the game. A good second half, with lots of spirit, especially given the same old horrors of the second quarter. I was sitting about two rows in front of Russell Howcroft, and about six rows back from the spot where Howie took the hanger that was out on the full. Saw Wonna talking to Dom Barry at half time, and towards the end of the game noticed that most of the non-playing Demons were seated nearby, including Joel MacDonald. Nice to see Flash run down Adam Cooney in the last quarter -- a `Flashback' you could say.

It was easily the best atmosphere of any Demons game I have been to in the past few years. When we learn to use the ball better and get some poise under pressure, it will be a different team. It was no coincidence that we looked very good when running the ball out of defense and backing ourselves, rather than stuffing around, second-guessing, and taking the third or fourth option.

Surreal ... goodbye and good riddance to season 2013, but the last two quarters were by far our best for a long time.

Hope is kindled ...

This is me!

Must make it hard to type ...

Type, read and interact with humans in general but I am a Melbourne Supporter which makes me special.

I can feel easy now the pain is gone.

I can see all opportunities along our way

Gone are the dark clouds that hadn't been kind

It just might, might ignite the fight in our game to play

The MFC has just determined it can not afford a super coach, in fact due to a financially disastrous 2013 the only person it can have is the coach it already paid to coach in 2014.

Mark Neeld!

Just when you thought it was safe to return to the MCG and see a MFC win or five. The man is back to finish what he had started in 2012, having the best VFL team in the country who is the softest to play against.

OMG if this happens I think I would start supporting Netball.

We need to know the new coach before we can start dreaming of the better times.

Sounds like time to switch to decaf, TBF

According to the Mayan calendar the messiah is supposed to arrive this weekend. Not sure if this site can Handel that news.

If the Messiah arrives, there'll be no Haydn for the players.

Oh yes praise The Lord bb

The best time of the MFC year is finally here!

After another stellar year by the MFC I have begun to reflect on a few of the players.

Two spring immediately to mind

Byrnes, I understand the reasons for recruiting him but IMO he has been a large flop. Perhaps noble reasons but epic mistake

Dawes similar to Byrnes but for a different reason IMO this guy is injury prone and will give us little over the balance of his contract.

There were plenty of Pies people telling me long before the end of 2012 that he was injury prone.

He would need to be dramatically different in 2014, Yesterday was the clincher for me.

Could we give both to another club and pay half their salaries to get them off our list and create space?

I know that it is doubtful anyone would want them but could we try?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
