Sort of.

Apparently the evidence is showing that this transaction was done by underlings and not Trump and was their conception not his.

I have heard reports that say that there is just no evidence to convict Trump on this charge.

It is clearly politically based, being driven by a Democrat State and Prosecutor and with a Judge who has a daughter heavily involved in the Democratic party.

It relates to an issue that happened 8 years ago and was known then by Law Officials, who did nothing about it, as they obviously thought it was  not capable of leading to a conviction.

And in the meantime the world is laughing and scared.

thanks

given it's a state driven prosecution, then it has nothing to do with federal tax violations

would state tax violations be an issue, then?

I don't think so.

All the Prosecutions are in Democrat controlled States and are basically designed to keep him from campaigning, or in some way get him convicted of something, which bars him from running again.

If he withdrew from the race, Nikki Haley would destroy Biden in the election, as her margin over him was bigger than Trumps in the polls.

Political or not, the law is very explicit about falsifying accounts.

Paying hush money isn’t illegal on its own, but authorities say the payments made to suppress stories about Trump amounted to illegal campaign contributions.

Today the Judge, whose daughter apparently makes her living from the Democratic Party, allowed the ex Porn Star, to speak about salacious details and an alleged incident with someone telling her to keep quiet in 2015, both of which have nothing to do with the charges, purely to rev up the jury.

He should have granted a mistrial but has stuffed up big time in refusing it.

This guy is more conflicted than I would be, if asked to umpire Dees v  Blues.

This is without the slightest shred of doubt or argument a Political show trial designed to keep Trump away from the hustings.

Putin and Jie must look at the USA and think they are just the same as them, but less honest about it.

Can’t be illegal campaign contributions if it’s his money.

I hear Uncle Bitters coached the ex Porn Star on the salacious details she presented in her evidence today.

The fun part of this case is that in a litany, nay, a cacophony of likely illegal acts on every front from sexual violence to insurrection to real estate fraud to intimidating electoral officials to threatening witnesses to receiving material aid from foreign powers to large-scale kickback schemes...  it is United States' Campaign Finance Laws - just about the weakest link in the US electoral system - which are the tripwire.

Honestly the case itself is not the main event despite all the balloons and clown suits. The most that can be expected of it is that the Trump ego finally kicks to a full psychotic break and he starts openly ordering hits on civil officials.

Correct it was the two acts of trying to alter the outcome of an election by paying to hide said affair and then cooking ze books via Cohen being paid.

Not really a prisonable offence but still crooked. Kind of ironic.

I agree it's political.

But then he should have been imprisoned a while ago now for the Jan six treason.

Lying about the election.

Assembling a crowd

Inciting a crowd and directing the mob to march on the Capitol where several cops were killed.

Then watching it live on TV and doing nothing.

Hanging offence.

I think Stormy got the two mixed up when she said she couldn't feel a thing

I thought you may have been around in 75   Uncle.

I guess a mishap every 100 odd years isn't too bad.

I suppose it's pretty good.

Plus Australians don't have the same level of hatred some Yanks have towards Government.

We've never really had a civil war. Maybe some miners complaining about fees but nothing serious enough that brother turns on brother.

I think it’s fantastic and actual justice that Trump being put through it. The guy had an extramarital affair 4 month after the birth of his youngest son, and did some ILLEGAL things to cover it up when it broke after the Hollywood sex tapes dropped on his campaign in the lead up to the 2016 Presidential election. Not trivial. Political yes, he used devious and ILLEGAL means to catch and kill true stories about him being made public to deceive the US electors.

such schaudenfreud…

loving it.

the guy is a creep and wannabe fascist.

Rumour is he’s a massive Pies fan too… 😉

Quite so dc , however, I believe (perhaps naively) that our system/politics  does not embrace anything like the level of corruption that appears endemic to the septic tank system.

It may be political at times and others legal but one thing is for sure Mr R. Leg....

USA politics is back to being juicy again.

Just like the old days with Clinton and Monica 😁

I recall the Democrats, in response to the President having oral sex with a young intern, in the ante room to the Oval Office no less, saying nothing to see here, no problem at all.

Yet when an adult Porn star has sex with a businessman, in a hotel room, 10 years before he becomes President, but of course is a Republican, wow the Democrats are horrified and blow a gasket.

Yes USA politics are back to being juicy again.

BTW does President Biden know what day it is today?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
