Thanks guys

Sorry I did not make it over for a game or two this season but I have been struggling to keep my interest in the AFL of late.

The Drugs issue has had a big part in this as I am so against the use of illegal drugs/substance and now the Essendon FC etc. in sport. Appears to me the AFL just want to sweep the issue under the carpet but only time will tell if the AFL is actual concerned about the sport/players or just making more money.

Youve missed the annual melbourne games that every good supporter never misses.

The Lions/GWS thrillers that ensue we come back next year for another gut wrenching.

Poor form froggy.

You are not alone DF

Many of us are at the point of no return as far as the AFL is concerned .

I had Paella for dinner at a restaurant on Thursday night and got food poisoning as a result.

Obviously an omen for Sunday's game because living through that was worse than the food poisoning.

Probaly cooked by some 21yo techno/phone/computer nerd who just went to the bog and didnt wash his hands,

Next time cook at home and the missus will think you are turning into a metrosexual and she will love you for another 2 years.

If you "pumping iron" like my good self WJ, you shrug off such minor ailments.

BTW. My personal trainer has resigned from the gym and the others apparently are not available. Bit odd really.

Anyway I'll handle myself for the moment. I'm making remarkable progress.

Biffen will no doubt correct me if my usage is incorrect but I do not think that "stuffed" is le mot juste . There is a far more accurate (albeit vulgar) substitute that springs to my mind.

"Pumping iron"? (which is not a noun phrase :-)

Back to that topic again.

Rather negative DF

You need to get on the positive wagon right next to me.

On the wagon? So no single malt? Bananas only? :-) :-) :-)

Very good R and B

Thanks, OD. How is yours going?

For approx four weeks my Firefox browser will not let me connect to the MFC but Explorer will.

Do you think Firefox is trying to tell me something?

Or maybe Internet Explorer just doesn't give a stuff ... :-)

Thanks, OD. How is yours going?

Stalled R and B

From a combination of subsiding Anger and Busy with work.

I will get back to it though as my father told me a long time ago

" Never act in angry you always make the wrong decision"

Decided last night that composing in Cold Blood would probably be wise.

Sensible advice. Will be interested to read it when you're done.

Beer - Hate the stuff but don't tell my family as they will find I am a foundling.

Pizza - YUM

Women - Have to ask permission from the wife first (Wait this is a trick question)

Fishing - Not into death sports

Golf - Sad day when my Father gave me his golf sticks as he could no long play

Crayfish - See above

Paella - No idea what this is but it sounds painful

Tea/Coffee - Is this the new Essendon Suppliments Program?

Curry - I think I have a picture for this somewhere.

Forgot about grandkids,{i must be getting ol...} - Where can I hire some from?

Teeth - Something Mike Tyson used to eat body parts with.

Or maybe Internet Explorer just doesn't give a stuff ... :-)

Maybe OD needs to update his version of Firefox and mine gives me access to the MFC web site.

I was lucky enough to hear the coach call the MFC players sub standard and believes they have given up for the rest of the 2014 season.

But to be fair they are not playing finals again this season so they do need to plan their off season activities and playing footy is only getting in the way.

Are we allowed to bring up the Casey Players for the rest of the season?

Maybe they will enjoy playing AFL Footy for a couple of games.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
