Thank you for your support DC. You have obviously worked your way through a similar experience.

BTW I have have exhorted Biffen to join this conversation , as his input would be invaluable, but alas he has sucumbed to the pleasures of the flesh and is currently unavailable.

In that case, Biff should only take a min or two to join us.

Diabolical white rum at ten bucks a litre.tasted like tanning oil but you could smother the vile aroma with pineapple juice .many a nice girl would forget their senses on the stuff, however briefly, before chucking .

That's the one. I remember pouring quite a bit into a young lady (I was quite sophisticated even then) and she chucked in my Kingswood.

Just natural evolution DC.

Not the Kingswood! I just put a new tennis ball on the tow bar!

God! How embarrassing (cringe cringe) and pizz poor was Aussie tv in those days?

I think in 30 years we will be saying the same thing about reality TV shows - biggest losers, master chit, big boring brother, the blockheads......

Actually, in 30 yrs time I may not be thinking much at all, perhaps not thinking at all.......

The way I see it Kingswood Country was to television what the No T$ No B$ Thread is to Demonland - cutting edge, state of the art satirical and biting social commentary without borders of boundaries. In other words, pure unadulterated crap. However, like the TV show and the Kingswood vehicle it is typically Australian and for some obscure reason remains one of our longest running threads and for that, the usual contributors should be proud.

The comments on the thread I will let go through to the keeper.

As for Kingswood Country and the like. I think it is reasonable to say that it reflected the Australia of its day - a rougher, cruder and arguably simpler place than today (which is not necessarily better or worse, just different)

Surely in the context of this thread, those words are highly complimentary.

And yes, it was the creation of a great man and former board member of the MFC. It's not acceptable for anyone to say anything derogatory on Demonland of anyone who held such a high and esteemed position of eminence.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
