Surely you have something better to do with your time than worry about the best thread on Demonland.

Good luck with your grandson's lightning premiership day.

You never usually ask.

Better see if Stuie is OK with it.

He loves a good closure.

I just get the feeling Neil Craig knows something about the Coaching position at Melbourne, as he keeps repeating, if he is not what we are looking for, he won't get the job. He also keeps saying he was given the job for 11 weeks and that is his brief, nothing more.

No, but there are few others that may have postings, but not a lot of worthwhile content ... :-)

FWIW I planted some roses recently, and in a certain corner put a red one and a blue one (well, as blue as roses get - more like light purple )

One day I hope to be able to put a navy blue one next to the red one, or better yet, a hybrid one that produces red and blue flowers, starting in late September ...

Is that better, WJ? :-)

Maybe. I see it more as him not putting himself into a corner by saying that he wants the job, but then having nowhere to go if he doesn't get it. He won't say that he doesn't want the job, of course (even if that is the case), and if he does he would need the team to win more than lose over the next four weeks or so, which makes him a hostage to fortune. So he says the above as a typically polite way of saying "too early to tell".

FWIW Provided that one of Craig, Williams or Eade wants the job (and understandably none of them have.openly said so) I don't think we could go wrong with any of them.

Nothing on this thread in 24 hours is more informative than 30 postings on a lot of the other threads.

e.g. the prattle on the "Jobe Took The Drug" thread over the last week.

Some times silence is golden!

Worried about sensible content on this thread?

Well I'm just returned from the Myanmar frontier. By god it was tough going at the headwaters of the Irrawaddy. No decent red wine to be found, the Mandalay Golf Club was in poor order and the coolies couldn't wave the fans fast enough to keep me cool. The Kyber Pass would have been a better choice.

BTW. Did Biffen make it back? He came up here chasing cheap drugs to onsell at the Gatwick. Doubt he made it beyond the "pinga pongas" in Thailand.

Apologies to the banana cake, but I sampled some vanilla slice cake last night, I forgot how nice it tastes. Haven't had any in years.

Tentative list of those substances allowable for consumption by D'landers for approval by -T$B$ commission

are as :

Bananas ( all shapes and form )

Carrots , only when in the form of cake

Snot Blocks

and I also propose the humble Custard Tart ( on probation )

Mr Leg you know you never see a vanilla slice in the healthfood shop. What is always there under the little glass dome - yes banana cake - health food of a nation.

That will be two "extra" laps around the tan for you!

If it is up for nominations, I nominate date scones (fresh, of course), and it sounds like Redleg would nominate vanilla slice. Come to think of it, what do OD and BB have against proud custard tarts? :)

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
