I was just wondering, if I made up a fictional player, if I could get some people to start calling for us to get him.

Example: Dale Roberts has been killing them in the west and he is regarded as the quickest and most deadly small forward over there. He can make a goal from nothing. He comes from a great footballing family and will go anywhere to continue his footy career, which is his sole aim in life.

I have heard about him Redleg I think he plays for Claremont.

Excellent left foot kick I believe.

Had glandular fever at draft time and got over looked.

We should rookie him for sure.

Also told he cannot sing for nuts

We are on our way.

Need to start a new thread on this bloke

He has only potential now that the glandular fever is under control

Not only left foot which was why Hawks had him marked for attention but has elite figures on beep test at a west Coast footy clinic

apparently they told him to avoid official contacts from Afl to fly under the radar a bit.

Did have a reputation as a party boy and his twitter activities were conducted under some obscure name to avoid the obvious media attention hence the rep for singing

apparently very strong in the contest due to great core strength and his cycling history had him with aerobic capacity equal to Indurain.

Has been reported that he wants to become a one club player just like his dad.

Apparently minor negative is that DB has shown interest in him for Adelaide which may deter a lot of Melb supporters.

Rookie for mine nothin to lose

You are right, he deserves his own thread. We must secure him.

Been done a couple of times before on Demonland. Art Vanderlay was a likely colt although a bit short at 5'4" and he ended up doing time at Port Phillip prison. Then there was Matty McGurk, a natural successor to David Neitz unti he (McGurk) was found wandering in a drunken stupor in a caravan park on the Gold Coast. Apparently. The Eagles are considering them both for this year's rookie draft.

As for Dale Roberts, I would take him and give him the vacant # 31 guernsey. I know he's not the sharpest tool going around - he was recently IQ tested at only 54 - but that would make him the smartest bloke to wear that number since Wheats retired.

Late second round pick at best though.

Lol..forgot about McGurk ( ironic that I would )

I reckon Roberts might end up rookied . He'll be our "this years" marvellous smokie

Mate of mine has just sms'd me, says he is a gun and we must get him.

Dale Roberts seen making furtive entrances at some Claremont fashion boutique.

Apparently looks great in a blazer!

If we only had his current twitter contact we could see how this potential champion shapes up.

Been told he is the type that Neeld likes.

Hard at it no compromise player. Has the ability to remain hidden in the contest until he bursts free making something out of nothing.

With his alleged aerobic capacity can play forward back or on the side.

Would be prepared to bleed red and blue if necessary

Too much????

I'm a bit concerned about the fact that he's apparently booked in for hip replacement surgery next week but I'm sure Harrington and Viney know what they're doing.

I can confirm he's booked in for the surgery on Tuesday but why on earth is it happening in a maternity hospital?

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
