Steven (Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou) Top Guy...We would test Mrs. Wong on her Menu Memory when a group of us ABC persons would take over the Lazy Susan table quite often on a friday afternoon in the 80's...great days.

I thought the ABC crowd went to Merghellina Pizza a bit further down Glenhuntly Road on Fridays. Best pizza in town (current owner also Steve).

I often used to see ABC personalities down there - Noni Hazelhurst, the bloke who played Harold in Neighbours (?). Before she became a parliamentarian we used to see Mary Delahunty. Of course, when I was a kid you could get a sight of the great JO'K.

Both venues were well frequented by different departments. The film department was 2 ninutes walk fro wong's in carre st.

Me Too

Wow, tell you what, I'm in Perth and go to the EP games. I'll try and grab a chat with Fred (almost) Dee if anybody is interested at one of the post game functions and see if he has seen this board and ask him about his time at the Dees.

Let me know if you are interested or not or should we let the Victorian Freddie craze come to an end?

My mum always loved the banana fritters there, even though they did look a little turdlike.

You mean they look a bit like the father of a former Melbourne player who has a highly paid job with another club doing nothing.

Bahahahaha!! "Wong's After Hours....." what a TV Show...The Kam Yin Chinese in Elwood closed last year, that was dodgy...Never a customer, but always open....

Was that the one with the specials on dirty bits of paper stuck to the wall? What a classic .My dealers bong was cleaner than that joint .

"we've done banana fritters sir"

Sir, we've been doing banana fritters for so long here that it's time to do something constructive with them.

I propose that from this day forward the father of HWSNBN should be called Phil Banana Fritter and that henceforth the son shall go by the name Tom Banana Fritter.

And may their careers in Bleaktown always be associated with the turdlike qualities and appearance of their new surname.

See that Ratten is pushing Gibbs up as the new star player at the club. Also saying they will finish top four. He is not too worried about putting his head on the chopping block it seems.

Wow nice day yesterday. Cricket ball size hail and floods, not to mention dangerous lightning. Good day for a picnic.

The look in my Granddaughters eyes at 7.30 was way to good to be beaten by anything that happened later in the day.

Thank god for little children they give a big reason for being.

A couple more weeks and the footy news will start to dominate the sports media again.

A couple of weeks and the Australian Open Tennis will be dominating the sports media and the footy won't be getting a look in. The next month is usually totally bereft of football. A good time to read thriller novels, go to the movies or listen to your favourite music.

Some good news for Demon fans.

I went to a barbecue on Christmas Day and Tom Banana Fritter and his family were there.

I spoke to Tom and he said that he is yet to make up his mind whether to stay at Melbourne or go to GWS. However, he did add that he and the folks are flying up to Sydney on New Year's Day just to have another good look around but the way he spoke of his love of the club and how he wants to be a one club player suggested that he will definitely stay.

BTW, the BBQ had to be cancelled after Phil B F started hoeing into the food early eating all the steaks, chops, sausages, salads, felafels and the ... er, um ... banana fritters. It was like someone worked over the food table with a vacuum cleaner.

I think you've had too much Xmas cheer Redleg.

I'm in Canterbury and there's not a sniff of sea air in my nostrils.

Moreover, I don't believe they allow boguns like Dermie into this part of town.

Nice people like Garry Lyon live here.

Couldn't be, there are no frogs in Canterbury Victoria, they are not allowed entry.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
