The Age article quotes KIng as saying he "cant wait to meet" players coaches etc. And yet he is involved in the Geelong finals campaign so we are, and must all wait.

Hope communication can be improved

.

I am very happy with the appointment and dont expect him or the club to reveal the plans, strategies, programs, Etc that he will bring. I will certainly judge him on results and hope he can get the results from our list that is possible. Strength and confidence are two issues that must be addressed.

He can finish the Cats season while still working on MFC issues behind the scene, just as Guerra did.

Mitchell does recruiting while preparing the Hawks for their finals.

We had to wait for the new CEO, so why not also wait for the new Senior Coach?

IMO our new appointments don't seem to prioritise Melbourne. But I guess the 2026 AFL season will show if the right decisions 🤔 have been made.

Given that we are well out of any football season. And players are no where to be seen . No concern about Guerra or King, both very impressive, and no learnings , just plain hsrd work type of talk.

And Greeny grinning when asked about Caulfield, good news coming I think.

I read that Nostradamus said.

12 year coach ,5 flags, lose the next GF and that was the motivation for the rest.

I will bet two bananas to BaileySmith’s finger !

I am surprised no one suggested a banana smoothie after our Trade Period concluded.

Surely it was worth celebrating.

I think of a smoothie as comfort food, Red, so maybe one of the various other libations featuring on this thread might be in order? Not so much a need for comfort in disappointment as a need for calming in fevered anticipation!

And thanks for keeping the flickering NoT$NoB$ glowing!

Any hints in the translation as to who our opponents are in the '26 GF, and how many times in the 5 we get our revenge?

It's also sad to contemplate the 6 barren years after our 5-peat that will lead to King's sacking.

Was asked a gimme question in a Trivia game recently, which was “which State in Australia is known by the nickname Banana Benders”.

The funny thing was that I was sitting with a Queensland couple in our group, who did not know the answer.

Let's face it Red, they're challenged by daylight saving 🤷‍♂️

Mrs. Redleg was ill on the weekend with a stomach issue and we ended up spending the night in Emergency at a Hospital.

All good now.

Guess what she was told to eat, to help avoid future issues, yes BANANAS.

I of course like a good dutiful husband, have joined her in this quest.

Not to mention the introduction to decimal currency, the transition to Federation and the introduction of railroads.

They don't seem to be challenged by winning AFL football.

Got me thinking: is Kate Hore from Queensland then 😲?

Wow, that must be the longest time the thread has not had a post.

Well done Froggy, you have kept it going.

Anyone know if the girls' team has a coach yet?

Have I missed anything important while I was on a break from the AFL?

I had to work on my disappointment about both my AFL and WAFL teams recent performances. It can be hard having one eye Red and the other eye Blue at times.

I have a feeling you may get some more enjoyment from your AFL team this year.

Great timing for a reappearance of this magnificent thread.

'Even Littler Goffy' has started solids this week and after Jackson Pollocking some sweet potato mash and then showing table-banging enthusiasm for rice porridge, pureed carrot and even 'boiled to hell' broccoli bits, it is time for his first sweet item.

Enter the Banana.

Updates as news breaks on this momentous occasion.

Next month the Mighty Black Swans will take on the V in Perth. As a young fella I loved watching the glorious Sandgropers beating the Eastern States teams. I don't have the same feeling when it comes to AFL club football of course. I sure my father was going to disown me when I started to supporting Melbourne. He was not a great supporter of the East. I on the other hand is much more open minded. I do miss the old fella, particularly whenever Melbourne beats the Dockers, my phone calls to him singing "It's a Grand Old Flag" is something I will never forget. Although he did soon stop taking my calls whenever the Dockers lost to Melbourne.

You sound far too chipper Frogger!

I am going for a long drive northward in the next few weeks and I intend running over as many of your cousins as I possibly can.

You're still allowed to drive? How is that possible?

Avoid anything red and blue, anything else is fair game 🎯

This thread has become nauseatingly nice.

Time for some Uncle Bitterness.

So that's what was missing!

Here we go, then, 'nicely' removed from 'nauseatingly nice'.
