Grand Finals aren't the same without MFC in it.

Hmm 3 appearances in 56 years means you haven't enjoyed many. In that 56 years I have been to a lot that I have enjoyed immensely. Especially 1970.

I thought Gawn owned Geelong 🤔

Awful GF.

Not if you are Geelong, I look forward to use dishing out one of those. The up side Buddy was hopeless.

This is a new attitude OD, as of this year!

I've enjoyed many Grand Finals all jokes aside. 2018 was magnificient, also really enjoyed the 2012 one with the Malceski snap to seal it. As for 1970, wasn't around at the time but I specially bought it on DVD when I was younger because I liked the idea of wartching Collingwood choke over and over again. One of the true Grand Finals.

Went to my first game of live league football since my stroke yesterday. The game was held at Leederville Oval, which was our former home ground of 75 years. It was a strange feeling moving around the ground in my electronic wheelchair but I had a good view of the game from the fence line. Luckily I had help from my niece and her boyfriend as moving over sloped grass areas was interesting 🤔

I have a very mixed view of the 2022 football season as I am so disappointed 😞 by how Melbourne finished it's final campaign. But our favourite teams cannot win all the Premierships they deserve 😤 😪 🤧

May 2023 be more successful 🙏 🙌 😌 ☺ GO THE DEES!

The decade of debacles continues at Essendrug!  You have to wonder “what were they thinking” in this last episode.
I am wondering what they can possible do to top the last couple of days.

I have confidence they will come up with something.

Spot on OD!

I could be having the sh*ttiest day ever where everything seems to go wrong but I know I’ll sleep well that night safe and happy in the knowledge that Essendon is a basket case. And likely will be for quite some time. 🤞🏼
Is “forever” asking to much. 😂

The president should resign now and a former President seems to be arguing for it to happen.

There doesn’t appear to be a single intelligent being among the ranks.

Sheedy began to lose his marbles many years ago and now he’s a big ol’ bursting at the seams bag of crazy ready to explode

It’s a sheer joy to behold.

Long may it continue!

Hey Frog, how's it going?

I read your recent post about your electric wheelchair. You know if I was in Westralia , I'd let the tyres down!

I heard your maid was sniffing around Froggy’s lily pond.

Maybe just distributing some of your Romsey wine casks to the less affluent, or is that effluent.

Does anyone know if that tall kid from SA with the funny name is going to get drafted?

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
