The Barossa has had some ill effects on me  I'll admit Skinny but I would not call it ignominious.

I actually teared up as I passed some very familiar names when I drove through there the other day.

BTW, speaking of wine, have any of you boozers read that the tax on wine is under review? It seems we may have to pay more for a decent red but I'm not sure what impact it will have on the fourpenny dark that Biffen and Moonie   quaff.

Won't effect old dee of course as he shmoozes free pinos. (Which he refuses to share I might add)

Yes Uncle I am stocking up the cellar as we blog! The last thing I need is an extra tax burden when I order my usual latest vintage 10 dozen Grange for the year! I mean don't they realise that such wine taxes will cost thousands of grape picking jobs, done by 457's and backpackers by the way.

Your social conscience  is commendable Earl. You are a credit to us genteel folk.

Just for your info, Bitter, but this is between me and thou and no-one else, I work in the wine business. Just like my noble grandparents in Voivodina/Banat.

( Just wondering, have you driven through there lately? Wondering because you do seem to get round and about and away from the cultural strictures of the Romsey basalt - I presume - mansion.)

Old Dee is really drinking Pinos Cleen under another label - he probably thinks it's retsina in disguise - by the way. Have that on good authority. Never envy the free tipples of your neighbor, I always say, you don't know what brand of tipple they are really consuming. It could also be called Pinos Envy.

And, as for that pretentious Onanist Moonshine Shadow, or, Moonie as you call him, he doesn't even know how to spell Kulture in English. Disregard anything he says. And, remember, volume is volume, whether it's metric or supine, or perpendicular.

My motto is, Don't let Pseuds confiscate any of my 3 or so remaining brain cells.Think about it and I encourage you to emulate that state of karma.

When you sniff, swirl and sip can you really tell the difference about the immigrant status of the picker? Wow, I really admire your palate. You must be an incognito MW.

All mywine is hand picked by virgins

Which counts out most backpackers. So I've dodged a business expense there.

Despite Bitters consumption of Gallons of Vin Ordinaire kept in a plastic tank,he is no officionado on the subject.

I have had great trouble finding virgins in Tasmania and Mornington Peninsula but I did manage to get this years vintage in .

It would be nearly impossible to do in New Zealand.

Apparently it's why Jesus wasn't born in Italy, that and the shortage of 3 wise men.

What about Jessies wonderful left jab! Very happy to see us Bash that lot. About time. Too bad about the weeks but at last some real biffo from Melbourne players....Yeah! So much for a bruise free Carlton...cop that you mugs! Good on ya ya mad B Jordan Lewis.......love him.

If anyone wants a fight me and Squirrel are available anytime. I'll try and get in touch with Jordan cos he's mad like us and he would probably want to come too.

I presume you and Squirrel abide by the rules as set down by the Marquis of Queensberry Special.

So that's his name. I was wondering who this MRP was. We get up around Queensbery St quite a lot and we could find this Marquis B and give him a bit of whacko the diddlio on behalf of Jordan, the enforcer and Jessie 'Brutus' Hogan.

Finally we have a face to put to the username, Special Robert. However, methinks it's time to freshen the act up somewhat. This board has an ample supply of weirdos on tap. Perhaps it's time to get all intellectual and supersede Webber as the pre eminent mind on 'Land?

A remarkable resemblance to Slim Pickens, me thinks.

The news about Barry Manilow is devastating.

Not because there is anything wrong with Barry coming out it's just that his music formed a central part of my masculinity and self identification.

Now people are suddenly going to think his music is camp or effeminate-which is so unfair.

I was thinking Chad Morgan without the teeth.

I rang Tracey at city link and complained that I had to pay 31.70 to drive into her tunnel and then back in.

It was in early January and I cannot recall entering said tunnel.

Nevertheless,I have struck a financial agreement with Tracey that will see the debt paid gradually.

Unlike our Understanding Trace,I have been forced into temporary poverty by a lack of client/ neighbours at the gat and have taken a loan at ridiculous punitive interest from BBO's pay day loans inc.

Week 2 and he has threatened sending  " the lads" around to collect the vig.

Enough said.

Looks like I'll be under the bridge with SR and Sqizz.

Been there before- good for the soul.

Just caught the Front Bar and  Sams six included a scanlens card picture of Ray Biffen "a mix of shock and serial killer"

yeah sounds about right Biff?.

obviously caught your avatar
