I presume you and Squirrel abide by the rules as set down by the Marquis of Queensberry Special.

So that's his name. I was wondering who this MRP was. We get up around Queensbery St quite a lot and we could find this Marquis B and give him a bit of whacko the diddlio on behalf of Jordan, the enforcer and Jessie 'Brutus' Hogan.

Finally we have a face to put to the username, Special Robert. However, methinks it's time to freshen the act up somewhat. This board has an ample supply of weirdos on tap. Perhaps it's time to get all intellectual and supersede Webber as the pre eminent mind on 'Land?

A remarkable resemblance to Slim Pickens, me thinks.

The news about Barry Manilow is devastating.

Not because there is anything wrong with Barry coming out it's just that his music formed a central part of my masculinity and self identification.

Now people are suddenly going to think his music is camp or effeminate-which is so unfair.

I was thinking Chad Morgan without the teeth.

I rang Tracey at city link and complained that I had to pay 31.70 to drive into her tunnel and then back in.

It was in early January and I cannot recall entering said tunnel.

Nevertheless,I have struck a financial agreement with Tracey that will see the debt paid gradually.

Unlike our Understanding Trace,I have been forced into temporary poverty by a lack of client/ neighbours at the gat and have taken a loan at ridiculous punitive interest from BBO's pay day loans inc.

Week 2 and he has threatened sending  " the lads" around to collect the vig.

Enough said.

Looks like I'll be under the bridge with SR and Sqizz.

Been there before- good for the soul.

Just caught the Front Bar and  Sams six included a scanlens card picture of Ray Biffen "a mix of shock and serial killer"

yeah sounds about right Biff?.

obviously caught your avatar

If you're worried about caller ID just borrow someone else's phone from under the bridge. Those blokes seem to keep them charged better than I can.

Based on past discussions, I would have thought that you would have had a variety of alternative businesses or business locations already lined up.

Not since the Chinese took over most of my enterprises and The Block took over the Gat.

My clientele always go fo the cheaper option.

Its part of globalisation- leaving honest Australian owned businesses like my own dwarfed by 900 kilo importers and legions of concubine dealers ready to take my business .

I may need to remodel my archaic business model in line with competing international players and look for a competitive edge .

Open to suggestions.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
