I am very close behind you!

Greetings from Saigon,or near enough to it,

Spent some hellish days in disagreement with some of my business associates but seem to have struck an accord in relation to prices of various products that are now safely En route to the Gat via an elaborate courier system.

Ate myself silly in Ha Noi and gained a few kgs that have been shed with the aid of chilli ladened southern food.

Have arranged several marriages already but can't seem to find any suitors for my red haired friend which is only natural I suppose.Uncle Bitters has agreed to house them at Romsey and deliver them with their honour in tact but I have my doubts as to his motives.

I have had to beef up the rickshaw team as they tend to tire very quickly under the whip, and many have fallen by the wayside.

I have taken to wearing a white linen suit and have taught the young girls how to make Pimms properly, which is imperative in this heat.

My masseurs have reduced my aches and pains in preparation for my return,if it ever happens.

I've noticed DC and Bitters are posting less frequently than usual which has lessened the collective IQ of the thread.

I urge you all to eat pork on the BBQ this year as a sign of respect to infidels.

Party on.

Back soon.

Red heads always struggle to find a match Biffen. You tried your best, can't help the injustices of nature.

I believe Bitters has been furiously mucking out the Romsey stables in anticipation of your lady friend arrivals. You know, peep holes, CCTV, anchor points, and all that goes with his sick tastes.

Don't forget to shove all of your 'declarable' items in the missus' luggage on your journey home.

Good to hear you're 'making do' Biff. Getting a good Pimms can be a trifle annoying. Hope they've learnt the finer points of a good G &T also.

Been waiting to use this joke again for about 30 years, so thanks Biff.

Actually I don't know what a pie costs. I also haven't bought a pie for about 30 years.

I would imagine they are now a few dollars.

Don't get me wrong, I think a women's league is a fantastic thing, it just doesn't interest me. The same way men's netball doesn't interest me.

I agree ET perhaps it will appeal to me over time.

I cannot get into the Big Bash. I like cricket but the sides are made up with no history and no tribal back ground

As well the players change each season.

Perhaps i will get into Female footy at least there is a established team to support.

I'm ambivalent

male and female tennis cricket cycling squash and (soccer) football both interest me for the contest , skill and theatre.

However I am a male and the vicarious experience of males playing is more attractive to me. I relate to male involvement and reflect on my own capacity against that benchmark.

I have enjoyed playing with Females but as I age fear that concentrating on females leaves me open to accusations of sexist behaviour.

Happy to join the esteemed company.

It's different from the men's game and will grow with time. I don't look at it as a comparison to the blokes, rather a style of footy that's more straight forward, which can be appealing to watch. Here's hoping the AFL don't f*** it up and remove the grass roots feel or turn it onto a commercially focussed business (fat chance of that not occurring). I know a couple of women in the new comp, including one of the marquee players, and hope to take a bunch of young kids to see a game or two over the next month.

Enjoy mate sadly I cannot raise the same enthusiasm.

It might have something to do with the time of the year.

The misogyny on this thread is disgusting.

I'm burning my mansiere in protest.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
