Shouldn't that be "Hut!" :lol::blink:

I believe our good gentrified friend Earl Hood may have lapsed into deep depression. Mr Turnbull today announced that imperial honours were finito! The good Earl has been seen at the right places and pressing the right flesh (not in the way Biffen understands) in order to qualify for a gong. All in vain it seems.

Hope he doesn't cast himself off the roof of the Stock Exchange.

Bill Guest a long time Demon fan, just got his horse into the Cup, winning the Lexus and surviving a protest I thought he should have lost.

Pity they missed the steward .

Deserved a bullet for that alone.

Probably. He wanted to have a drink with Biffen so he must be a weirdo.

I only drink with interesting people.

When they aren't available,I gravitate towards perverts.

That's very funny Biffen.

You are quite the cunning linguist at times.

Yes BBO I must admit I have been a touch maudlin since the announcement but I have returned from the members at Flemington totally recharged! Certain well connected colleagues have assured me that as far as they are concerned Tony is not finished. And apparently Her Majesty is not happy with Malcolm one little bit, according to dear old Flynty!

And DC guessed correctly I did, at my lowest ebb, find myself drowning a few G&T's outside at the Builders Arms on Gertrude Street waiting for a bus, would I do it or wouldn't I? Then I realised in the 20 years I have lived in Fitzroy I have never seen a bus on Gertrude Street, they don't go down that way too many trams in the way I guess.

Just to add to many concerns you have Earl, I saw a fellow in Crazeyburn wearing a nicely styled North Fitzroy hipster man bun...... it matched his tatts rather well I thought.

BTW I was just driving through in the Merc and observing poor people.

DC is the multicultural sod a half Box Hill, half Blackburn skippy who has migrated to Borewood. That would explain it.

BBO as you have stated before, just driving your Merc amongst the poor lifts their spirits as it gives them a vision of what is possible, what they can aspire to. It is laudable that you would put aside some of your precious time to volunteer amongst the poor, at your own cost. Although you might want to talk to my accountant to explore what might be deductible in regards to your fuel costs, your time and other wear and tear on your vehicle.

Thank you Earl - your sage advice is always appreciated. However, I must differ on one point. When attempting to minimise my taxation burden, I deal directly with my lawyers. I find that group far shiftier .... ,errr more, shall we say flexible. Although, as you can imagine, gains are to some extent offset by exorbitant fees of course!!

Herbologist are you, Earl? How about some advice on parsley, rosemary and thyme as well?:blink:

as my grandfather always said, bbo, be careful when dealing with lawyers, some of them may actually know the law

Yes I know I am bored with not a lot on today.

Funny you should mention herbs R&B my wife has pots of them all over our balcony and every dinner time she insists on asking me to "get me some thyme, get my some parsley". Nearly every time I come back with the wrong herb and that allows her to reinforce one of my few weaknesses on a regular basis. It is a real blank spot for me and I have suggested she put name plates on all the pots but of course she has no intention of doing that!

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
