As this weekend marks Melbourne's second bye for the season and the only Demons going around are in the VFL, I thought it appropriate to dedicate these You Tubes of the 2000 VFL grand final which was the first of its kind under the alignment system that brought together the AFL reserves and the former VFA clubs.

I dedicate them to two former Demonland posters jczebra and The Pig who were both avid Zebra fans and who both passed away a few years after this game:-

And it was the Sunday after Melbourne made the Grand Final by beating North at the G on the Friday Night. Queued up at the G all morning to buy GF tickets, then hot-footed it out to Waverley to watch the Zebs. From memory Ben Beams was the only player in line to play in two premierships in a week had the Dees won. I think he was a late inclusion for Cam Bruce for the Demons.

Haven't had the chance to watch these clips yet as I'm on the road, but from memory a young darren jolly played for north ballarat and impressed enough to be offerred a spot on our riokie list the next year. Would be about the only player from this game still going around?

Was a great day out at waverley (the last game ever there?), in our first year of alignment it finally gave me a premiership to celebrate that wasn't a night grand final.

After the grand final wins at princess park we headed to the sandy social club they were all time favourite celebrations.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024.     Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock for the final week of training for the 1st to 4th Years until they are joined by the rest of the senior squad for Preseason Training Camp in Mansfield next week.     A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players.
