Green and Watts on the footy show

Will be very interesting to her the shite that gets dribbled. :P

Probably unfair considering these blokes will have been sent out to fly the flag for the club.

Still I partially agree and in that I really don't want to hear too much more from the players or coach at the moment.

I was joking, hence the :P

I gather they will be on for the telethon thing for membership.

But I'm sure we will hear, structures, let down, blah blah blah

This better be good because my eyes are already bleeding after watching 5 minutes of this show.

Goddamn that's some crap TV!

blah blah blah what ever just words

Don't be so hard on yourself...

Watts looks more comfortable infront of the camera than Green.

And he's not afraid to show a sense of humour!

Watts spoke well, Green towed the company line (even when being heavily pushed into cracking a joke about Gary coaching the club). Basically said everything we've already heard, just live.

Watts is too young for me to say this, but I'd hit that  *shameful*

Also that segment was hardly worth me watching a whole 15 minutes of The Footy Show. Worst.Show.Ever.

Brad is not comfortable in front of a camera, he wants to be. But it is just not in him i do not think.

He wants it too much.

Desperately trying to be relaxed rarely works.

And he was cringeworthy on the 5th Quarter last weekend.

My favourite post so far.

Yes that question to neil Craig made me feel ill, and Neil knew it all too well.

You're being very harsh on him I think.

He's only just become captain, give him a chance.

He has been at the club since 2000, and was not even in the leadership group 2 years ago...i am concerned that Greeny is not a leader, and should just play footy.

Being Captain is a huge job, you must be mentally tough as do it. It's not a slur, i am just concerned.

I'm not passing judgment on Green's ability to be captain.

He is just poor infront of a camera.

Well he was voted by his peers to be the best possible replacement for Junior.

The FD wouldn't have given him the job if they doubted his ability.

Cometh the man.....Leaders are not made, it is in the DNA...so let's see what Greeny is made of.

I miss his courage on the field this year, it is like he has become a different person, we need him to fire as a player, worry about the captaincy later.

The important thing was they were out there fronting the media, pushing our barrow to get more members.

Does it really matter if they were asked entirely predictable answers and gave corresponding answers? Some people complain we dont get enough airtime on the various footy shows around, and yet when we do people complain they dont tell us anything we dont already know!

Its probably the first time Watts has been on and fronted up to a TV programme since the hulllabaloo after he was drafted died down, so its good to see the club is not hiding him away.

No problem with Jack Watt's he was comfortable, but i can feel Brad's pain when that red light goes on...Would have taken balls to do it though, so i do acknowledge that.

Agree with this DD. Damned if you do, damned if you don't....

Like a bunny in the headlights.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
