Don't think Morton played. Not with his broken finger.

No Jobe Watson...

Jeez I hope we beat that team. I wouldn't pick up 70% of those players in the PSD.

How many can we play? I think that list is 29 - surely it's less than that? 26 = 18 + 6 I/C + 2 subs? 24 = 18 + 4 I/C + 2 subs?

im confident we can most definitely beat this team 2moro night:

from essendons squad last week

bombers outs:

gumbleton

watson

zaharakis

lonergan

hocking

quinn

lovett-murray

didn't think the others were worth mentioning...

Pears isn't there either

we are in pretty good shape, only missing 4 players tomorrow and 2 of them will be back for Round 1

if everyone else stays fit, going into R1 missing only FRawley and Morton would be a great result

sry forgot about Aussie, he'll be right for R1 also I presume

Excited to see the new guys live, Evans, Howe, Cook, going to be great to watch.

I predict the Dees win by 20pts.

So Pettard is playing then???

ANy news when we will see Tapscott out there...

Also just confirming this is a normal game of fopoty yeah??... 4 quarters, regular time, almost normal rules???

Was about to say a similar thing. Am excited to see a lot more of Howe.

Yep, 4 quarters, no stupid out of bounds rule... Only dif to the real thing is more players and supergoals.

still no Scully then?? Last week Bailey said it was minor hamsting soreness and he would be ok for this week. Plus he wasn't named on our injury list, however that could just be the Herald Sun's list without imput from the clubs..

Anyone have anything further on his fitness at the moment?

Aussie also doesn't appear on either the team sheet or the injury list

Reports say the Scull has been training with the rehab group

It was "minor knee soreness" (not hamstring) and according to today's practice report, he was doing some light work with strapping on the knee... so probably simply a case of not wanting to risk aggravating it.

Off topic, but according to Jones, Wona's been training really well, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the semi.

Like the confidence of "see him in the semi" from Hardtrack!

Does anyone know if the AFL will be putting full replays on their website like they did for the first NAB round?

one would assume

OK, finally found a link - ironically on the MFC site:

http://www.melbournefc.com.au/tabid/7415/default.aspx?newsid=107374

Six interchange players and two substitute players (as per 2010)

· Clubs will be required to identify on the team sheet up to six interchange players and two substitutes

· Substitutes can be introduced at any time of the match and for any reason

· A substituted player cannot return to the field for the remainder of the match

· This rule will also apply in the NAB Challenge.

So that's 26 = 18 + 6 I/C + 2 subs

29 = 26 + 3 emergencies

3 in that list wont make the cut and will be emergencies

Good to see Zaharakis not playing. Thought he was pretty good last week. Also looking forward to seeing how our rucks go. Who out of Martin or Spencer will put their hand up.

Looking forward to the game . Hope Watts and Jurrah can continue their form and I want to see Grimes have a big one.

I think if we can get them early, they will crumble and we could end up wiining by a big margin.

Dee's by 6 goals.

Nicholson's a bit stiff to be dropped, thought he was pretty good last week and was looking forward to seeing his run and carry live. Injured, or perhaps just rested? Good to see Howie and Cook get another chance to show their wares.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
