Featured Replies

Thanks for updating guys, they hadn't updated it for at least a week, so I forgot about it.

November 25, 2010: As previously posted, we've cracked 15k. Currently our tally is at 15,123, 811 more than this stage last year, where we were at 14,312. It's roughly a 6% increase.

Note to everyone, sign up by November 26 (wait, that's tomorrow) and you get a free 2011 MFC calendar, two changeroom passes an you go into the draw to win two tickets to our 2011 best and fairest.

I keep forgetting to remind my mum.

five more last night!!

Note to everyone, sign up by November 26... and you get... two changeroom passes...

Are you sure? That would mean there would be 30,000+ changeroom passes floating around already, doesn't sound right.

Go into the draw for...

All members who renew for the 2011 season before 26 November 2010 will receive a FREE exclusive team calendar and will receive an entry into the draw to win two tickets to the 2011 Best and Fairest, as well as two changeroom passes to visit the team in the rooms at one of our Victorian games.

So Renew Now to secure your seat and for your chance to win!

Thank you for your support of the Melbourne Football Club.

There's the email I got sent, so yeah, there's two draws.

Just signed up my 7-month old nephew this morning.

His dad's a lion but mum's a demon so he'll probably end up with memberships at both clubs.

The battle for his heart and mind has begun :)

Tell his old man to Buy a Paddle Pop and move to Queensland. This is Melbourne Territory down here!!!!

I've come across many families in this predicament. If you live in Melbourne, then thankfully the little one will be growing up in what will probably be the Demons most successful era in many year.

He will be amongst many of todays young to jump onto the Demons wagon & form the nucleous of the futures membership army.

never got that email, ive renewed though, 10.41 a month isnt much to pay

16,355

I was just about to say that.

November 29, 2010: We're really speeding along now. We're currently sitting at 16,355 members, ahead of (roughly) the same stage last year, where the tally was 15,609. These figures are from December 2, 2009, so they aren't spot on, but we're about 800 ahead, as we were on my last update.

20k by 2011's a good chance. We were on about 18,000 at the start of this year from memory, so if we all start signing up (I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this), it's not out of the question.

Just upgraded my membership for 2011.

I have a 17 game membership, where do premium MFC members sit at the away games?

Wherever. I was a junior member this year so my 17 game membership got me into the MCC (my dad's a member, so we went to both the Collingwood matches and the second Hawthorn one), but I normally sat where the cheer squad is located, which, at an away game, is generally the Ponsford Stand.

thinking about getting a legends membership, although at 800+ it is quite steep. obviously it would be as a donation - im already a 17 game reserved seat member as well as MCC/MFC member. but i really cant think of a better way to spend some of my tax return. however, id certainly be looking at getting something of value out of this for myself... selfish i know.

does anyone have one of these memberships - and are they worth the coin?

Depends on whether you take up the 'extras' like pregame, after game, dinners, special events for VIPs etc.

If you like going to that stuff - find out what they are and make and judgement call.

If you live in Canberra just forget about it.

. . . unless you want to make a point about how good a supporter you are? :)

Yeah, yeah...

I've backtracked from that ham-fisted, yet veracious, self-gratification.

A not to every demonlander just add $35.00 more and come and join the cheer squad i have made some life long friends and we all sit together. The more the better for our club, as all the money goes to the club and you get to sit with other demon members. :)

Good to see

BTW did you mean veracious or vociferous or voracious?

Veracious.

I could have said 'honest' or 'truthful'...

But I didn't.

Ahhh, veracious as in (self) rightous?

Clever.

And, of course I'm self righteous - I'm rpfc - I thought we'd met?

If you had said vivacious I wouldn't have questioned it

Cheers :)

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
