Today during the media conference to farewell Presti, Pies Footy Manager Geoff Walsh tipped a bucket on Anthony. He said that Anthony was selected this year 7 times and dropped after 5 of his games. He then said that "any club looking to fix their problems by recruiting Anthony should be careful" or words to that effect.

I have never before heard a club official speak that way about a departing player, I thought the comments were amazing. They must really dislike Anthony. The question is why?

We have been trying to tell everyone.

He is an arrogant wuckfit and I have complete confidence that he won't be the first list management mistake under Bailey.

Bizarre bad form.

Not least of all that would be disrespectful to Presti, who the media conference was supposed to be about, no?

And that is the case whether Jack Anthony is a complete criket's tossbag or not

{to clarify - a cricket's testicles can weigh up to 14% of their total body mass)

Good! It just cheapens his price. Could be a rookie posting. I see him as a Potential,,,,mobile defender, who can sneak forward. As a rookie, we'd be able to see how he's going without too much outlay.

Remember Tarrant was a troubled & inconsistent tall mobile forward who left & went to defence. I wonder if Anthony has the same in him. It may just be worth a rookie punt.

Wow.

Still you think he'd a be a good acquisition...

Jack Anthony has no place at MFC.

He can barely function in society.

We don't need nor want him.

i wouldn't write someone off after one club. 2 clubs yes, but not after one. There may have been people at the Filth Anthony did not like, then Dawes took his spot.

So in his mind, mid year he thinks "i gotta get out of here" He is not going to put in 100% for Collingwood again-Human Nature, happens with people at work all the time. All i hope is that DB & the Footy Dept have a chat with him-what happens after that............who knows.

Exactly.

Thats what the rookie draft is for, to sort through the Not quite right types with talent, & see if any, or which ones are of interest. I'm ambivalent to him, won't bother me either way, but he has at least some talent to work with.

We should have rookied Andrew Lovett last year then.

Thank god the FD has a few more scruples than shown here.

While the CFC statements are unusual and questionable.

Anthony was a one trick pony and has been exposed on the footy field as a definite NQR.

And what has been known for sometime is that he has both attitude and cultural issues.

And for a Club that houses Swan, Beams, Didak, Shaw and co with all their off field traits the comments by CFC should be ringing the alarm bells louder.

Caveat Emptor should be in bold and lights

I was waiting for your stamp of approval, RR. Didn't take long!!

We don't need an Andrew Lovett. We need a good solid Target who kicks Goals, thus JA is worth having a chat to. DB said it himself.

Lots of people haven't worked out yet that DB has a dry sense of humour. He did say JA was worth looking at but he also said he was shocked at the Bruce decision. There might have been a touch of sarcasm in those pronouncements.

I don't want Anthony, I don't like Anthony, but if he is out of contract and the Pies dislike him so much, why didn't they delist him and why did they play him 7 times this year?

Something is wrong here.

Clearly missed by some.

And given he is questionable on the field performances are backed by off field issues I am sure DB is on the phone to him now.

he is also my least favourite Wiggle

Post of the week. Well done.

Yep. The Hun has a story on it but I'm too lazy to link.

I guess that means we have no interest? If we did we did we could trump their PSD pick couldn't we?

Fair enough but I think it was pretty ordinary for Geoff Walsh to give the kid a backhander on his was out the door. No class but I guess it is Collingwood.

Well summed up.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
