While it's my job to hate on the Rams it was impossible to hate on their performance, they were incredible and every bit a playoff side in that game. I do wonder where they would be if Nacua had been healthy all season, he was everywhere.

I think they can win the division I'm convinced now. A bloopie over us this Fri and they're on their way!

Also Kupp, Whilst Puka was insanely good the amount of great blocks Kupp did.

Now a mostly healthy offence and its showing, our D is still young and has holes but they have done better than I expected but still struggle to contain sides and get off on third downs

Considering they went all in to get that SB (and why wouldn't you) and everyone was forecasting years of pain due to their draft/salary situation the Rams have done very well to be where they are. Probably would've won the division in a canter if Puka wasn't injured earlier this season.

You'd be annoyed if you didn't pick up 3 points in the tipping comp this week

Chiefs, Cinci, Washington, Atlanta & Baltimore should all win against mediocre (or lesser) opposition

But the week has at least 8 very good match-ups starting tomorrow with the Rams @ 49ers

Bills @ Lions,  Steelers @ Eagles,  Packers @ Seattle,  Bucs @ Chargers,  Commanders @ Saints,  Colts @ Denver and Dolphins @ Texans could all go either way and all the results of those games have play-off implications

Even if we had Kupp, but both along side Higbee being out all year meant for a big chunk of the year our best 2 WR and TE were out, add in the Oline issues and tbh I'm stoked to be in the hunt.

Yeah, the drafting of Puka, Williams and some of the young defenders has been really good the last two years, add in Stafford directing it all and its made a quicker turnaround that I expected. And on top of it all we lost the greatest to play the game this year to retirement, If AD was playing I reckon we would have at least one more win.

On a scale of 1-10 if I said that Chris Jones was challenging that mantle how mad would you be? 😝

Just a 1, cos teams don't triple team Jones 70% of plays, the double team him and at times triple, but Donald very rarely  had 1 on 1 (see gif for the reason why)

but quite often 3 on 1, and if the refs went over the tape they would owe him 1000 holding penalties ha ha.

Teams use to say they spent more time on AD than any other player in the comp in the weeks leading up to playing the Rams.

AD's pre draft Analysis

Overview

Short, scrappy, instinctive, highly productive defensive lineman who does not look the part, but inspires confidence he can be an exception to the rule. Is the type you root for and has the quickness, athleticism and motor to earn a spot as a rotational three-technique in a fast-flowing 4-3 scheme.

Strengths

Quick off the snap. Natural leverage. Gets under pads and into gaps. Good foot athlete -- redirects well and can work the edges and loop and stunt. Flexible enough to zone drop in short area. Plays with awareness and consistently locates the ball. Closes hard and fast. Keeps working to the ball. Disruptive penetrating ability. Outstanding career production -- 63 TFL and 27.5 sacks the last three seasons. Tough and competitive. Team captain with terrific personal and football character.

Weaknesses

Marginal height and frame is nearly maxed out. Hands are more active than strong -- could play with more pop and power. Overpowered in the run game and ground up by double teams. Gets snared and controlled by bigger, longer blockers. Not a two-gap player. Has some tweener traits -- lacks ideal length and bend to play outside.

Yep, well said Gorg.

I don't actually believe it but I did want to stir up a bit of late Thursday afternoon ruckus.

Very often triple teamed, especially when they played 3 up front. You had to because you'd be worrying about about the interior and outside contain, he could destroy you both ways, his speed off the mark just made him that special.

Equally effective in a 3-4 or 4-3, DT or DE? Who cares, he was damn good.

I do rate Chris Jones extremely highly. I don't think they win the SB this year without him (still pains me to say anything about this game).

De'Vondre Campbell said pre game he doesn't want to play and then when they tried to put him in the game in the third he refused and went to the locker room....

How far back do you have to go for the last time the Rams doubled up on us in a season?

Time to well and truly shut it down this season. Some would make the case that we would have banked the NFC west without the CMC, Ayuik, Hargrave and Greenlaw injuries. Maybe but not 100% convinced.

Purdy had to get paid, don't think he's worth $60-65m. Big decisions to make.

My grades for the Niners today ie. The Niners rant that no-one asked for:

QB - F

Season on the line and Purdy crumbled under pressure. Underthrew a short pass for Kittle that should have been a TD. Missed a deep one to Pearsall and threw a bad pick in the end zone.

RBs and FB - C+

Gerendo was ok, Jooch does very little now. Didn't run it enough.

WRs - F

Deebo caught 3 passes and had a bad drop. Pearsall not used enough.

TE - B+

Kittle has been our best this season

O-Line - C

Didn't do too bad but didn't make any room for running.

D-Line - D+

Defended run ok, never got close to Stafford though

Linebackers - B+

Greenlaw good in his first game back until going off injured again. Campbell to be cut

DBs - B+

Gave up 160 yards and no TDs, dropped some picks though

Special teams - B

Better than recent weeks, still too many illegal formation penalties for reasons I can't explain.

Coaches - F

Kyle desperately wanted to get Deebo involved and it cost us. I dont know what goes on in that Labyrinth mind of his. Didnt run the ball enough and got outcoached.

6 points at home with an 'offensive genius' and 'weapons'. So much for the revenge tour, whatever that means...

I think you guys win the div without the injuries.

As for a sweep of the Niners... I couldn't honestly answer that.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
