So the panthers forgot to show up after the first drive.

Steelers nailed everything and their D made the panthers Oline look non existent.

People could be sleeping on the Steelers a bit, they have some very good weapons on offense and solid line players. Everyone's expecting a Pat's/KC AFCCG but I wouldn't say it's a foregone conclusion.

Anyone but the Pats please.

Yeah I reckon, they can beat you a number of different ways it’s gonna be difficult to keep their offense quiet. Big Ben is getting clean pockets and they are doing all this without Le’veon! If they get him back it’s going to go up another level.

Can certainly challenge the Pats this season in my view.

Pats, Falcons, Chargers for me.

They look like the popular picks this week.

Having said that I also think the Panthers were being overrated a tad. Their wins haven't been all that impressive

Looks pretty straight forward on paper but I wouldn't be overly suprised by a Titans & even Browns upset

My tips - Saints,  Pats,  Chargers

Falcons, Pats, Chargers.

For the betting folk out there I think the Seahawks are too good to start with a 10.5 advantage

Saints get a TD when he clearly fumbles it between his leg and by that stage looks out of bounds.

Turned into a good game this one ... Eagles 20  Dallas 20.

Half way through the 4th quarter.

I am absolutely fuming after watching this Rams game.

Once a-[censored]-gain we give up so many bloody imbecilic penalties, Suh hitting Wilson after he has thrown, swearing at the official when they are 4/11, Aaron Donald with a minute to go, gets pushed out of bounds penalty flag comes in, what does the idiot do, remonstrates by grabbing his face ask and getting a penalty himself meaning instead of 2/25 at their own 10 it’s 2/10 and they march it down, luckily Wilson misses a throw late and we hold on.

Wade Phillips needs to smash these guys and if he doesn’t McVay needs to smash Phillips and the D. No way we win a Super Bowl let alone a bloody playoff game with idiotic imberciles with absolutely no feel for the game running around. Donald especially as captain and should be fined by the Rams for being a flo$g

Yeah fun to watch this one. Man I love watching Wentz play. Dak looks a million times better when he has a reasonable running game. In this case brilliant running game.

At least they will keep Garrett for now ?

Suh I can see doing that but Donald is usually a level headed guy was surprised. Massive bone headed act though with a min to go and I agree that lack of discipline will cost dearly.

Still waiting for Fowler to break out with a big game, good strip sack though.

Donald was pulledout of the game earlier as he was getting frustrated with being held and no calls coming his way. I get that. Fowler was the same, but he needed to understand the game was literally on the line. And it’s a reoccurring thing of late.

Oh and Donald post game puts his helmet back on and fronts up to Britt and starts a scuffle...

Kupp is out for the season with an ACL is a massive blow.

Huge loss. Was having an incredibly steady season in the slot. Who steps up for that role now, maybe Woods?

Yeah woods stepped up a bit with Reynolds playing a bit more outside.

Cooper is about to come off IR so I wonder if they will upgrade him from punt return specialist to maybe a bit more WR?

2 points up for grabs this week which is an ideal time for those trailing to think outside the box and not necessarily pick the obvious standout road winners (do they even exist anyway?)

Which teams can be trusted?  We'll all find out after the Monday games although KC would have to be some sort of show in their MNF matchup against the Rams.  Same goes for the Vikings @ Chicago in the SNF fixture.   And how 'bout them Cowboys?  Good luck you blokes!

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
