Saints, Ravens, Broncos

Not going to go with a Superbowl prediction just yet but I'm going to have a stab at the Division winners for 2022 off the top of my head. Feel free to argue:

AFC East - Buffalo Bills

AFC North - Baltimore Ravens

AFC South - Indianapolis Colts

AFC West - LA Chargers

NFC East - Philadelphia Eagles

NFC North - Green Bay Packers

NFC South - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFC West - LA Rams

Quick notes:

- Colts upgrade at QB, yes he's getting on but still the best QB in that division.

- AFC West is the stacked division. I wouldn't be surprised if they all finish over .500. Giving the Chargers the edge, across the board that is a brilliant roster with few weaknesses but it could be anyone's.

- Bruce Arians reckon Brady's passing is better than ever in training camp. Prepare for some big numbers

- If someone with a name that isn't Aaron Donald is going to win defensive player of the year I'm tipping Micah Parsons to give it a good shake.

Big game to start with this morning with last year's champs the Rams taking on the Josh Allen Bills. Probably rude not to throw on a same game multi.

Watt, Bosa or Parsons can win the DPOY but if the true goat AD99 Is healthy then first team all pro and DPOY are his.

Ive never seen anyone better. On both sides of the ball.

AFC west - Chargers, chiefs WC

        North - Bengals

        South - Colts, Titans WC

        East - Bills, Dolphins WC

NFC west - Rams

        North - Packers, Vikings WC

        South - Tampa, Falcons WC

        East - Eagles, Washington WC

my big outsiders are Falcons and the Jets. Could see the Jets doing pretty good this year and push for a WC spot

Not far off really. His work rate and willingness to get improve is unsurpassed. At very least the Jerry Rice of defensive players for me.

Not a super dedicated NFL fan but after decades of mediocrity, I’ve come to love watching my Buffalo Bills the last few season. Josh Allen is an absolute freak and pleasure to watch. Defence is looking better this season too.

That's a great way to start the season ... a big victory at the Superbowl winning Rams

Gorgoroth (here on this thread) will be none too happy and we'll get the summary at what happened soon enough!

Allen is a gun player but he made a name for himself big time last year so no surprise there

Fun team to watch Viper, looking forward to checking out the highlights on this one.

Nailed my multi by the look of it! Kupp anytime touchdown and Higbee over 38 yards (he had 39) plus a few other overs for receiving yards.

First half thoughts

Oline needs work.

Ramsey isn’t recovered from

Surgeries

Run with Henderson looks good.

Kupp ♥️♥️♥️

No targets for Allen Robinson has been a massive surprise.

Not targeting the rookie safety’s and corner, no deep throws

Second half

Why the hell did he run that back from

The opening kick off??? Cut his [censored]!

Over rushing on 3rd down so Allen gets the 12 yards. Dumb.

First drive and missed tackles all over the shop.

Gee they are running this ball so well.

Stafford to Kupp is something to behold

I didn’t like it last year and don’t this year. Put Ramsey on the best.

Haven’t made them punt and we are 2 mins into the 4th qtr

Second pick by Stafford was a putrid throw.

Ramsey got torched by Diggs. I reckon Ramsey believes he is unbeatable and tries to go for the ball instead of just beating his man. As bad coverage as I’ve seen by him tonight.

We look very average, if it’s no Kupp it’s nothing. Need OBJ and a pass rusher.

Our D over all have been decent but still given up 31 points. The Bills look so good, I had money on Rams Bills SB last year and I tell you what they will make it this year if they stay healthy.

Ravens, Colts, KC

AFC
East - bills
North - ravens
South - Colts
West - Chiefs
WC - Bengals, Chargers, Raiders

NFC
East - cowboys
North - packers
South - Bucs
West - 49ers
WC - Eagles, Vikings, Rams

Wow there’s a huge discrepancy between the afc and nfc. I considered Denver, Miami, Patriots, Steelers, Browns, Titans all for playoff chances. That’s 13 of 16 teams! In the NFC it’s probably 9 teams that feel they’re playoff quality and 7 more who’d probably take an 8-9 season as a win.

Bills over Packers in the SB.

I'm still trying to catch up ... listening in to all the games tomorrow and then 5-6 hours of Sportscenter afterwards should fill my brain with lots of info

Monday for me is NFL day with a bit of work thrown in when time permits!! (I do work Saturday's though)

There's big raps on the Colts & Cowboys but if Tampa start off well, the talk will be about Brady.  The Bucs are 2nd favourites to win the SB (behind the Bills)

Then it's KC, Packers (?), Chargers, Rams, 49ers, Denver, Ravens & Dallas

Steelers D are ballin out! 7mins to go and they are playing as good as I’ve ever seen a D play.

Steelers stop them at the one yard line, then Harris gets injured on first run, throw on second!

instead of giving the ball back to Bengals with 50s and no time outs the give it back with 1:36 and timeouts… wow

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
